Is Brigitte just cooked now?

I honestly feel like Brigitte has been one of the most “ethical heroes” for almost the entirety of OW2. She’s certainly been strong at points, but she lost her stun and it’s time to admit that her value rests largely in a skillshot ability. It’s not the most mechanically intensive skillshot, but she relies on hitting whipshots to a very large degree and if, for example, Orisa relied on Javelin throw as much as Brigitte does on whipshot she’d be considered one of the more skillful heroes.

With that introduction out of the way, season 9 hit Brigitte pretty hard. She’s a very breakpoint dependent hero, and if your combos aren’t enough to deter pressure, then she quickly gets to feeling pretty damn squishy. The breakpoint changes greatly affected matchups vs dps heroes, but if tanks are getting buffed to 50% knockback resistance, that’s a major hit to whipshot.

they have to keep “just ok” at the absolute very best or all the delete brig people will go crazy again and start crying and throwing tantrums. She used to be one of my favorite heroes but they’ve really ruined her. Hardly ever worth playing anymore

At this point they should probably remove the self-slow on whipshot.

rip Brig, she gone

Hear me out if hitscans can get hitbox buffs to the point of hitting you without even visually hitting your body then brigs m1 should get another foot of reach and whipshot hitbox should be buffed more (and bring back the whipshot damage buff), because how many times have I seen my whip shot literally scrape right by my targets shoulders or worse, actually go through the tanks shoulders because it didn’t hit the exact middle of their weird whipshot hitbox?

Brigs main support was the boop and now it takes a big hit. Good luck to boop a Dva, Winston or any other tank now.

  • increasing the DPS passive
  • making tanks harder to kill
  • reducing the impact on boops

But people will pretend that “its just not her meta”… dive meta… the thing she should be good against and she is terrible.

“Just play her as a bodyguard for the other support”

Yeah… I am very sure that the supports she should protect can now protect Brig at this point xD

She’s going to be better vs tracer sombra genji because of armor changes but worse vs tank

Just stop it… her 25 or 50 armor are a joke and gone instantly. They will still shred her. You never see her anywhere for a reason. It is more cosmetic than practical. It has zero impact.

That boop nerf makes her such a rock.
But I imagine that means if you let an aggro Brig do things, she can still help take down things that aren’t a tank.
But after this, booping a tank is almost pointless. Almost.

No if you read the update, they said that faster guns will melt through it about as easy because it’s per shot(scaling) fo faster gun = disappearing armor.

Reaper bullets? They get the full reduction. And slower rate of fire.

I was a Brig main. My account was renamed to what it is now because I use the “Sorry” voiceline option a lot and its one of the things I would hear all the time.

When they changed her ultimate I lost A LOT of interest in playing her. And as they continued to tweak her and dive heroes she lost more and more of her identity. In Season 9 I stopped playing her completely.

Changing break points, increasing projectile sizes, and the DPS Passive were huge hits to her. She was forced even harder into a “peek, whipshot for inspire, then hide” character. She basically cant do anything else and barely answers any form of dive.

With this whipshot nerf incoming what does she even have anymore?

I think they should include her stun again in her base kit. That would make up for the indirect nerf to her whipshot.

That or, at the very least, it should be an interrupt so she can cancel channeled ults and a few other things. Stun would be great though.

Let’s buff shield regen and bash distance

Or, at the very, very least, take her bash off cooldown when she ults so she gets her two stuns.

  1. Go into custom game at 50% knockback scalar in Firing Range mode.
  2. Go to the bot on the 0-40m range.
  3. Use whipshot from behind the bot on the railing
  4. Watch as you move that bot only 5m.

If you boop a Rein point blank, he can still swing at you because you won’t move him far enough away to get out of his range. Very similar with Winston with that extra range.

Lets not forget whip shot causes you to move at -90% movement speed over the entire duration. Not only did your whipshot not do anything, you made yourself a sitting duck standing there for about a second.

It would feel wild to be able to shield bash towards someone to pop ult and stun them. Might be over tuned but I dunno

Brig is already so niche, she’s about to be way less popular and way more hated among people who don’t play her (when she’s on their team)

I hadn’t considered how good players might abuse that. I was thinking of my own dumb self that shield bashes, gets my ult, and immediately activates it and only gets one stun.

So…in retrospect…skill issue…

Reaper is high burst damage so he should be better vs armor than Tracer.
Widow headshot will be 295 damage vs armor instead of 300. Tracer will be capped at 50% less damage since she only does 6 damage per bullet

whats the point of playing her?
Never find her interesting but everytime I use this, it feels like melee bruiser with no burst, low heal and made of glass

In s9/s10 brig is still pretty decent but it is more niche because the game is a lot faster.

I guess we will see what’ll happen after mid season and how the meta shakes out. If it’s brawl GG but if it’s dive brig will still probably have a place. Don’t forget Lucio’s boop is also getting nerfed. When it comes to displacing dive brig is still probably gonna be the best you got on maps wider maps or those with a lot of verticality. Enabling and shutting down tracer won’t change and she’s gonna be better against tracer so :man_shrugging:
