With the comming event of Summer games ( I hope so) it will be the start of the repeated events for the second time.
OW team will probably bring us new skins, sprays and probably voice lines.
If this happens there will be 3 event voice lines and sprays(?) per hero, and it may be not a great experience for new players who recently started the game and want epics or legendaries, since the item pool would be flooded with blues and whites.
I am not a new player, already played through this event and have some of the items, so I think it would’t bother me.

My guess is that they will probably just add the items from the first year in regular boxes.
The droprate is always the same, no matter how many legendaries you already have. The only disadvantage new players have is that they are more likely to get older skins and less credits
Don’t get your hopes up.
The droprate of legendaries doesn’t change depending on the amount of blue and white items. A bigger problem might be to actually get new skins and currency.
I hope the hopes of those new players who would want to get something cool wouldn’t be let down.
So before Summer Games, there will probably be another lore event and another anniversary event.
With that being said, getting blues or whites doesn’t hinder you from getting legendaries or epics. Chances of pulling one stay the same. The thing that new players have to face though is that they have way to many items to get so they don’t get many duplicates to gain credits and they will likely not get from a box what they want.
Also event legendaries and normal legendaries are seperated in their drop chance so no matter how many new event items or normal items will come, the chances will remain the same. However, the chances of getting the one item you want will become smaller and smaller, the more items there are.
As far as I remember, the chances of pulling a legendary are 1 in every 14 boxes and epics 1 in every 6 boxes. This means quite some boxes to gather for all the items.
I wouldn’t mind an increase for events but I’m also fine with how it is rn. I have the advantage of having almost all items yet I am still missing 5 legendaries from the current event after about 30-40 boxes while already having some from last year.
At least they gave us 4 weeks for the current event!
If they wanted to increase the drop rates it would’ve already happened during one of the outcries during an event. I’m fine with the change they have now. Better to get new items instead of endless duplicates.
