Is Ashe done in the story?

And are any other heroes going to face her situation?

Ashe was turned into a playable hero because she stood out in the cinematic when it was being created. Since she was originally a side character in McCree’s lore and they decided to make her playable, is she not going to appear in the story again? Did she already serve her purpose in the story? Are characters like Zenyatta and Hanzo going to get the same treatment because they’re connected to an Overwatch member? I’m generally curious and I’d like to see what anyone else thinks.

It feels like it. If they decide to introduce one of the other two founders of Deadlock, or another backstory chapter, we might see more of the gang. But I cannot see them getting anything else that develops them in the future.

What story?
The story in this game has been abandoned a long time ago.

Clearly you haven’t been paying attention.

I don’t think they would drop Ashe that easily but they have included some background information in her bio that might tie into other big organizations in Overwatch.

Her parents were highly sought-after business consultants and coaches for powerful CEOs around the world.

I can see that some of their parents’ personalities/habits have passed down into Ashe even if they weren’t close. Ashe just takes it a little bit further in her own way.

Id welcome it if shes done with the story tbh

She looks like your typical side character. Some minor information who she is and where she came from but nothing insanely big. You could ask her about the stuff she did with McCree when they were young but thats just side information, nothing important
She feels like the only character in the game with a “complete” lore imo

Doubtful. Something tells me she will join Overwatch for McCree’s sake and they will be besties again.

Ashe of all of the 3 party heroes so far seems to have more stance on joining OW. That or she will help them if not McCree.

Well, they said Ashe watched what her parents did on the wiki and I am wondering how she “watched” them if she was always alone?

She probably saw her parents interacting with others; just not having time for her.

Yeah that is possible.

I do feel bad for her though. Like, I remember Michael Chu hinting that they will be friends again though so that’s good in a way?

Her story is no more arguably “done” than any other character in the story. Moira for example is just as finished, ("But Moira…something…something unfinished business with Reaper!!! " Sure, but then you can say the same thing about Ashe and McCree.) Other than wondering who actually answered the call to rejoin Overwatch, there’s not a whole lot that needs to be fleshed out. Except for perhaps Mercy’s backstory and if Hanzo will pick a side.

I’d be interested to see how she’d react to the family McCree found without her, probably won’t sit well for a while

I just want a Mercy cinematic. She NEEDS the help. Badly. She is so bland that if you look up the word , her face appears.

Nah, they’re pulling a Hammond again.
Just another Hero.

I’ve actually been waiting for Ashe to have other voiceline interactions with other heroes. Like I want to know how Hanzo talks to her and vice versa.

Haha I think for McCree she will do it. You know the triplets and the omnic sniper will follow too. There is a reason we have backstory on them. They most likely will be heroes for OW.

I am sure she will like the OW family since well, it is all she ever wanted? She deserves it I think, plus put her talents to good use and she would have her bestie again.

Except Moira is one of the Talon leaders in the Doomfist comic, and they way it left off you can tell more is coming from them. Ashe’s story in “Reunion” didn’t really leave me with a feeling she’d be back.

“Haha Where will he go next?”

wtf? He isn’t afraid of a giant super smart rodent walking the streets capable of killing thousands?

wonder if they’re just looking for excuses to not do more lore at this point then, hammond is a pretty good example of a hero with “finished” lore.

I personally can’t see this in Ashe’s character and personality at all. She is not hero material and isn’t interested in being one.

I can’t imagine her following orders which being in Overwatch would require. She’s too strong of a personality and too egotistical. She wants to lead and have the final word. There is no way she would join an organisation that not only is not being lead by her, but also puts infinite restrictions on what is allowed and what is not.

She founded her own thing because she wanted to lead and be in charge of how things are done. Her entire story and personality (voice lines) are about that. Not to mention that she’s deep into crime, without any remorse or a sign of change. She’s a criminal and a rebel through and through. Overwatch is a polar opposite of everything she stands for.

Edit: I’d also add that giving her a complete personality change where she suddenly becomes soft and remorseful would be a detriment to her character and would remove any value she can have in lore currently.
