Is Ashe a bad hero?

I mean in a world of Widows and Hanzo’s why on earth would you want to play Ashe?

Before Sigma was released Ashe was pretty good. She has much more freedom to position forward than Widow and can use dynamite to get people around corners and behind shields. With regard to Hanzo, Ashe has a much easier time hitting people because hitscan, and also has a faster firing rate. The problem with Ashe is that Sigma’s infinitely positionable shield just makes her worthless, and no amount of maneuvering can get you a shot past it.

She’s basically how Widow should have been from the start.

And because Widow’s OPAF, there’s really no reason to ever pick her. Hence why she sees almost 0 playtime in OWL

Ashe is amazing. It’s widowmaker and hanzo who are the bad heroes, specifically for obsoleting heroes like Ashe, Soldier:76, McCree (before ridiculously massive buffs), etc.

Before Sigma broke the game completely, Ashe had a better winrate than either Widow or Hanzo, even in Grandmaster.

She was always better than anyone gave her credit for. Only in pro is she bad, and that’s because she’s directly countered by Widowmaker.

She had a high winrate because she had a low pickrate…

It wasn’t that low. It was like half of Widow’s in GM, and higher below that.

You can put out a lot of damage with ashe. You can constantly frustrate supports and tanks like orisa plus rack up damage if you can consistently hit your tnt. Bob is good for starting caps on 2cps and zoning.

Primary is good at medium range and coach is mobility and distancing.

I have really good matches with ashe then games i cant hit a hog. But when your hot on ashe she is stronk.

Ashe is good for picking off stragglers, being an anti-flanker sniper of sorts, and getting in a lot of splash damage so the enemy team is weakened for your team.

Her problems which stop her from being GREAT are: her scoped aim is slightly off which makes it harder to land hits, her coach gun has too long of a cooldown - the cooldown should be shortened and the damage reduced, and the global nerf of ultimates REALLY hurt her because as someone who isn’t as powerful of a sniper as Hanzo / Widow, Ashe really relied on her ultimate for damage. Since BOB takes longer to summon, her output has hurt as a result.

I will say that Ashe should not be though of as, or played like, a sniper. She’s mid-range and should be thought of more as a drastically better McCree.

Like with Ana, going for a sniper position is just going to get your head shot off.

Ashe is one of the best heroes, just not in a double shield meta. She has space denial with dynamite, ads and hip fire, movement with coach gun, and Bob is a great zoning ult or payload contest.

No, she’s not. And even if she was the worst hero I’d still play her, because Jennifer Hale.

If you have a mercy Ashe is basically a widow with a good explosive AoE and Bob! She’s fun to play too as long as you aren’t countered by a widow and you can throw dynamite over shields instead of staring at them.

She’s exactly how a sniper was supposed to be made for a game like this. Shame they didn’t realize that back in beta or the other two might’ve actually been somewhat well designed by now.

She’s one of my favorites bc most heroes don’t give me an excuse to sporadically tell yeet and wake my cat doing so.
Widow can’t ever beat her in that department.

Idk why Blizzard would have heroes like Hanzo and Widow then go ahead and add Ashe to the mix.

Half of me wonders if Ashe has Widowmaker 2.0’s kit and Torbs lv 3 turrent as an ult.

If they would replace her single reload bullets with a reload clip, she’d be perfect.

OVER the shields! Who’d have thunk?

Yeah, it was great until Sigma came out with a shield you can’t possible outmaneuver in any way.

She’s a victim of restraint when some of her competition doesn’t have any.

She has hit detection issues and on top of all that the meta isn’t favored to her playstyle.

Still healthier in the game then Widow.
