Seeing Tracer and a Dive Tank in every ranked game for the past year is very stale and boring. I feel like the game is due for one of its fat balance patches.

I for once am more than sick of dive meta. I was hoping we would get a mid season balance patch today, but nothing yet. I was also hoping for dive nerfs but I doubt it at this point.

Same. I’m honestly waiting until they nerf dive to play again.
It’s so stifling if you want to play anyone who’s not a dive hero.

We have had a LOT of non dive metas in the past year. We had that awful Mauga period. We had the Orisa and Hog periods. I think the current Dive meta isnt even that old.

Blizzard genuinely disgusts me with their approach to patches. League of Legends has impactful patches every 2 weeks, some better than others.
Waiting until the mid season or new season to actually address moronic heroes is disgusting.
I have no issue with dive, but I do have issue with how talentless the game has become ever since S9, and I especially think that D.va should never once be anywhere close to a top 5 tank, let alone number 1.
its so wild, isnt it, how it feels like no tank in this game should ever be allowed to be good because of how it ALWAYS WITHOUT FAIL breaks the game?

Maybe it is me or maybe I am having that feeling but I think dive has been the longest meta thus far in OW2. It is so frustrating to have to play certain heroes all the time or you lose. So many heroes but you are so limited in what you can play 
Welcome to 5v5. If it is not Dva it is someone else. And once D.VA gets nerfed someone else will take that place until that gets nerfed and so on and so on. In the current format there will never be a time where tanks would be equal and you could play various ones without being counterpicked into oblivion.

Mauga and hog both got heavily nerfed with a few weeks of being strong. D. Va has been the dominant tank for most of the year.

Nope, and I never ever will be (apart from the dva, that’s an issue)
As a brawl player, I mostly enjoy fast comps with Rein, Ram, Zar or JQ being meta despite on really playing Zar and Ram at a decent level.
Poke is alright but I find it a bore when its meta except on longer ranged maps.
If Dva was fixed this would be one of my favorite metas, I might even learn Tracer and Winston so I can participate.
When I lose to a dive w/o Sombra I don’t feel cheated like the enemy team are a bunch of skilless hero abuser.
If I die to a Genji, Tracer, Echo, soj, or reaper with A Winston/doom and Ana Zen/ Ana brig I feel like the enemy team earned their kill. They had to coordinate and had to use their mouse to actually execute on the dive.
99% of metas in OW2 haven’t been like that.
It feels like brawl is the shortest meta too. It gets killed in a hotfix patch like a week after it pops up.
But yeah I agree. For the first month or so of dive I was fine playing just dive heroes but it got so old so quickly since I don’t like them that much.
Considering the dive meta has NOT been a thing for a year… ???
I mean it literally only started this season lmfao. And this is the first time in ow2’s history where dive has been the majority meta.
(and yet my dps still refuse to play dive heroes)

Well then I apologize but that’s anecdotal. Meta is not.
Dive meta only started this season, anything ran before this season was off meta and people just… regularly playing dive.
A little bit. But it hasn’t been meta for a year. I’m definitely board if it. Time for the new meta hopefully.
And last season. It’s been like 4 months of dive.
I think they mean more recently. Dive has been hard meta since S9, Tracer constantly being a mustpick and now even Sombra is hard meta. I think I’d like to have pocket Sojourn meta back, at least she didn’t have the best self-heal + immort in the entire game on a cooldown lol

S1 with giga-Sombra and S2 with the DPS speed boost passive were dive metas, as well as S9 breaking Tracer. S10 leaned back towards the previous metas but Tracer was still broken, then S11 giga-nerfed Sojourn and DPS meta became full dive and now in S12 dive is pick-or-lose, with Sombra being meta as the icing on the cake.

last season was a poke meta.
Wasn’t dive meta. Zarya was the meta tank in season 1 and hog replaced her shortly after.
Not a dive meta. Hog and orisa were meta season 2.
One dive hero being meta does not make it a dive meta. If that’s the case EVERY meta has been dive because tracer has always been a top 2 dps.
No… last season was a poke meta.
