Has anyone seen (or, even better, accomplished) a 7 man kill? Not talking Bob, but where you kill several, mercy completes a res of one of those, then you finish killing the rest of the team?
I /almost/ accomplished this as Pharah and was sad that I missed my shots on the Mercy and the res’ed Lucio :(. I ulted from behind them, got the Lucio and 2 others and Mercy immediately began to res behind a pillar. I then got 2 others (with help from the team, but was still going to ‘quintuple kill!’) and then finished my ult. Tried to get Mercy and Lucio and completely whiffed, lol. #sadness#
But that made me think: What would have happened if I /did/ manage to kill them both? Would it say “Septuple kill!” or just stop at Sextuple Kill/Team Kill? I gotta believe this is rare, but possible…all it takes is a Mercy res’ing someone at the start of a teamwipe. Has anyone seen this or perhaps seen a sextuple kill where it was 5+ a res’ed person dying a second time?
You could probably test this with a large team of enemy bots in the workshop, but as far as I know it does stop at sextuple kill, even if more players are killed afterwards
You can hear what is said in practice range by killing bots once the 6 man kill one plays you hear nothing until double kill plays again for missing the timing
It doesn´t say “Septople kill”, I think there is not such line…I tested it in training room some time ago, cause I was curious too…it stops at “sextuple”.
Does Rez even cast fast enough to not interrupt the streak?
The time it takes to interrupt it is extremely short in Overwatch and while I technically got plenty of sextuple kills, all of them registered either as quadruple or quintuple kills
Good point about the test… so it does stop at septuple kill :(. Would have been cool if it kept counting, lol.
In my case, they definitely res’ed the person and IF I had been ‘Johnny on the spot’ I could have gotten then right after my ult had finished. So I definitely think there is time, but you really have to get lucky to get it (maybe not so with the Hanzo dragon if you get lucky on someone running out of spawn into it, like someone noted above … that is more they need to be UNlucky :>.
I’ve never seen it in game, but it might be possible if you kill everyone on the enemy team except a mercy, have mercy res someone and then kill the res’d enemy and then kill mercy.
athena can only count up to six, so even if you do pull this off the she won’t realize.
it would be very difficult to ever happen normally because resurrects cast time plus the time it takes for a person to actually be vulnerable is 4 seconds (1.75 rez cast time, plus 2.25 seconds of invulnerability).
I’m not sure how long it takes to break a streak but I’m sure 4 seconds is more than enough unless you stagger the kills and kill someone else while mercy is in the self-stun cast time.
But like others said the voiceline I don’t think even exists so the game wouldnt acknowledge a septuple kill anyway
Yeah, the only reason it caught my attention was because it was still counting up the quadruple, quintuple kill as Mercy was running away after the res, meaning I had a chance to continue the streak if I could have landed some shots on her. Made me think the timing /could/ work if someone was better than I, lol … which is why I was wondering if anyone had seen/done it. Definitely a bucket-list item, lol.
The announcer only goes up to six. It’s the same in practice range (with the workshop) where you can spawn Tracers and place Torb’s molten core then. In some seconds you have 60 kills without them being announced. It just goes to those normal kill streaks for being alive.
