An interesting point came up in a game I played today. Player on my team was saying that I wasn’t healing them. I thought I was doing alright with healing that round. Tried to give healing and worked with another player to cause kill staggering. Team comp was Tracer (who was helping me), Rein, Zenyatta, Torbjorn, and Sombra (who said the comment).
Back to the main question, they said that 5 golds was a red flag for a bad Moira. I didn’t think that was a sign of bad Moira playing. A bit aggressive? Yeah. But I wouldn’t say bad. Considering we spent about half the game fighting the enemy between the points outside of Volksya industries (when we were defending point B.) I totally admit that some ults were used just to kill, but I did run out of healing juice (something that almost never happens when I play Moira unless if its a tank-heavy comp).
I now pass the question to you guys, when you have a Moira on your team and you see 5 golds, do you think the Moira was bad? If you are a Moira and you get that, what are your thoughts?
If you have 5 gold medals as Moira with that team comp, you’re likely either putting a little too much emphasis on damage, or your DPS Teammates aren’t doing their job. It’s more likely the latter in your case here though.
It really depends bc a lot of times moiras will trickle on people and it will count as a kill even though they barely did any damage. If you got 10k healing then you aren’t doing bad just don’t brag in the chat if you have gold elims bc that can come of as egotistical and nit very smart. Not saying you are bragging just letting you know that you should never. But youre most likely not a bad moira
If a Sombra asks you for healing, probably best to just ignore them and whatever advice is lingering in your head based on their feedback. They have no idea how their character works, clearly.
All of this. Though, i would specifically look at damage in this case. Elims for Moira are highly misleading. a tick of trash damage before somebody dies is counted as an elim for her. She’s very much like d.va in that regard.
That is true. But if you’re out-damaging your DPS teammates, especially when there’s 3 of them, then there’s not very much that can be said regarding the bit that they’re not doing their job. Or at the least, not very well
yeah especially with a tracer. A sombra makes sense, since they’re highly team dependent. But a tracer should by all accounts be carrying. That’s probably the only hero that could be considered a hard carry in overwatch.
If you spent all your time with Tracer, I cannot imagine that Zenyatta was getting proper assistance, or that Reinhardt was getting the healing he needed to make space. Sombra might have had to hang back more than she should have to prevent the other healer from getting farmed.
In general, Tracer should be getting health packs or coming to you. If you spent the majority of your time with her, and your team was struggling to get kills, it is probably because you were too aggressive.
I cannot really fathom how you had gold damage but ran out of healing juice… that just doesnt work. Even if you are playing her 100% wrong using damage orb over healing orb and hosing your healing instead of bursty hwaling and letting the hot work. It just doesnt make a bit of sense
Oh, absolutely, I believe healers should try and patch Sombra up as it does allow her to stay longer, especially if nothing else is going on. But I would NEVER demand heals or complain about the lack of them on one of the most self sufficient characters in the game. That is just ludicrously absurd.
Flank with Tracer, Spam damage orbs on cooldown, return to your team only when everyone is critical, hold down spray until your drained, go back to Tracer to “refill” and then repeat.
I would if it meant that the lack of healing meant I had to spend too much time protecting the backline instead of flanking like I am supposed to do. And I noticed that Rein and Zen constantly had to leave to get my health packs instead of being healed by Moira.
It sounds to me like OP did Sombra’s job, so Sombra tried to do hers to the best of Sombra’s capacity to play a psuedo support.
