No. Chances are that it won’t come back in any meaningful way, but the devs are open to exploring its viability in the coming seasons.
They’re doing internal testing on 6v6 options but gave no details of what it will look like or when we’ll see it.
I’m not holding my breath on anything 6v6 related until actual concrete information is available.

They said they might try 6v6 again in about 8 months at the shortest, but probably won’t bring 2-2-2 back because queue times would be too long.
Come back in a year, because thats the timeframe we have to expect a test at the earliest time.

the trials is said to be around season 13, a quickplay hacked though so its not going to be around for long

Its just speculation at this point, nobody really knows fs. devs are looking at maybe returning it as a second gamemode? but thats a ways off.

Long answer, maybe something similar but it almost certainly won’t bear much resemblance to Overwatch 1 - because Damage queue times had too significant of an impact on player-retention.
I suspect a lot of 6v6-proponents will think Tanks are way too strong in any ‘new’ version of 6v6/2-2-2 that comes back. But they will need to be because they’ll need people to actually queue for the role.

Well that’s true. They won’t be focusing on balancing heroes, they will be focusing on monetization, because that’s what netease does. (who ironically is a mobile game studio).
