this name makes me think that PVE may actually be based in a series of History Chapters like Staecraft2.
considering also that Overwatch’s first PVE map was India … “Iris” may actually be based on something about Overwatch lore.
I am obviously basing myself on the fact that Ow2 is still a truly free upgrade but the PVE package is a product sold separately.
“Iris” is the name of whatever entity/presence Zenyatta and other Omnics gained sentience from.

Possibly an OW phone game?
OW2’s codename is Calypso. Iris might be something else.
Its leaked from Nvidia Geforce NOW with tens of games so it rules out the possibility of a phone game. It may be an OW spinoff or simply a brand new title.
Brand new title sounds good. I didn’t read the leak but if this is the one that confirmed the Final Fantasy Tactics remake too, then stokage.
Well this isn’t exactly correct (incoming lore!)
The Iris is simply best described as a “path” through the Shambali faith that some omnics embrace, and it teaches humans and omnics are “one” aka equal, and you can ascend through this path (the iris) to become a higher being
There was an omnic named Aurora, the first omnic to gain sentience. We are not told anywhere how this happened, but I guess you could say she was the first to find this “Iris path/practice” when she visited India and Suravasa and that’s how.
She ended up transcending/dying, THIS is what granted sentience to the rest of omnic-kind. So she’s basically a prometheus figure, who sacrificed himself/got punished for giving knowledge/fire to mankind
The temple in Suravasa has a statue of her, and acts as a pilgrimage sight in lore. It’s also featured in the comic Stone By Stone, where Vishkar accidentally causes tremors because they “set up shop” in the local village and end up destroying the statue of Aurora, which Symmetra ends up repairing and mending Vishkar’s relationship with the locals
I remember that in the last meeting with investors (last month) in addition to having announced that they have reached “an important milestone in the development of OW2” (to be understood when they will let us know) they announced the arrival of a New IP and of Mobile products. But the latter have been partially confirmed as being related to the WoW franchise.
“Iris” may be a new IP but … it seems strange to me that it shares the same nomw as a term found in the Overwatch Omnic lore. But it is also true that they used the term “Nexus” both to indicate the protoss bases of StarCraft, and to indicate the setting of Heroes of the Storm (a game that deserved better). and on spin offs … does anyone know if there are sizes of an “Iris” in the WoW universe? 
I am not ruling out that Blizzard may invest in Mobile also for the Overwatch franchise in the future. but … I think they know that that would be stupid news for a game that even needs a sequel to bounce back. this makes me think that we will not have this kind of mockery. Yet I can’t explain why Wyatt Cheng (the shameful Mr. “Haven’t you a phone” from BlizzCon 2018) is still on Blizzard, so … we can’t be 100% trustworthy anymore

Given that Overwatch 2 is on the same list as Iris, it’s probably something else.
Blizzard does have another unannounced FPS project that uses the same engine as Overwatch 2, though. They’ve been advertising positions for it on their Careers site for more than a year now. Maybe it’s that.
They got to be working on some kind of new game besides D4 and OW2.
I think that a new MMORPG isn’t unlikely.

but creating another MMORPG is a bit like competing with himself, as far as maintaining a certain audience is concerned. probably this is also why they didn’t give so much importance to W3 Reforged, since the most famous RTS (in terms of balance) was reached to the maximum with StarCraft 1 and 2.
I think instead of an approach more similar to HotS, or a new videogame genre, as did fallout von Shelter. but it should still evaluate the PC presence as HotS or do nothing like D Immortal.
