Invisible player models bug

Yep - it’s still happening Blizzard.

I just had a comp game, where in second round, random teammates and opponents where “invisible”. They were being shown as a whisp, a little floating light orb, how am I supposed to know what is going on?

Please fix it Blizzard.

That means the character models were not loaded yet.

Ok?

And what am I supposed to do about that? It happened in second round, game was working fine, and then suddently it’s not.

I’m beginning to see a pattern forming in the forums.

I think maybe they broke something to do with graphics memory management.

I’ll make a post on the bug report forum.

Seeing orbs (placeholders) usually points towards a hardware issue.

Usually you can think of your storage media dying.
Check with crystaldiskinfo.

Otherwise test your RAM modules, memtest86 is a good example.

Sometimes these things can happen due to software interfering, meaning that it’s entirely possible for multiple players to experience it, as they could share the software.

Best thing to do is ask in #technical-support first and troubleshoot the issue.

Just ran the inbuilt windows memory test… it runs twice, and took like 30 min. no errors.

I also ran Crystaldiskinfo and it says temp is low and health is good on my SSD.

I have no issues in other games.

My setup is decent… the rig is less than a year old

  • 3080
  • 12th Gen Intel i5-12600K
  • 32,0 GB RAM

Software I have running is

  • Nvida Broadcast
  • Nvida Experience
  • Bit defender
  • Battlenet
  • 1 Chrometab

I run the game on low and i capped my fps at 400, where its usually stuck. But lately it’s been dropping into the 300’s and after the ‘1st april patch’ it’s been dropping into the 250’s.

Just done a ‘scan and repair’ of Overwatch and no repair was required.

So this fixxed it for me very fast. Flushing ip.
