Lo and behold my alt account drops a little, my main account raises a little, both at plat 4 for the briefest second.
The difference between the two accounts are wild.
Main account is giving me diffs so great - the game is “hard”. Sub performing tank or dps partner, or support. Can’t hold rank, I drop to plat 5 demotion. Lose 2, switch over (also getting a lot of high ping games). Mean while my opponents seem like master players.
Alt account, the game is dumb easy. I wonder if my opponents know how to play the game, 6 game winning streak, I’m half way back to plat 2 already. 2 Out of 6 I don’t die, and the queue times were longer than the game.
The internal rank anchor is too strong to truly enjoy this game or to say there’s true rank integrity.
Story old as Overwatch. It doesn’t change at all when you get to different tiers. You can have an account in GM and win 6 in a row and the other team looks like they set up computers at a childrens daycare and an account in high diamond and lose 6 in a row where you can’t peek for a millisecond without getting melted.
It won’t get any better as you rank up or down, it’s a complete mess everywhere but blizz won’t give up on their busted algorithms that control MMR
Plat representing the majority, if not, a large half of above average players, is “inconsistent”, thanks you proved my point? If a ranking system cant accurately rank a majority of its above average players, then its back to the drawing board.

Just like clock work. Alt hits career high, and got 2 stomps in a row. back to plat 3.
And I mean STOMPS… right after my “winning trend”.
My point to all this is just to highlight that the behind the scenes stuff “is too strong”. Simply put I am starting to lean to more of a giant bucket of people in plat randomly selected - but its plat… then some black magic per division weekend goop this is.
I have similar experience(s) (s from many accounts).
The trigger that makes it go from losing to winning or winning to losing trend… I am still not sure what its from (too many wins/losses, too many or few death, alot of ability negatiion /usage), I dont know, but eventually it ‘flips’ and you go from the bad side to good side or good side to the bad side.
Its not a conspiracy WetWipes, it is what I experience over ten of thousands of hours combined since 2016. Statistical evidence is a thing btw.
Don’t worry my favorite content creator said it’s all up to you and there is no way the system is bad. Meanwhile same content creator Farms their 25th unranked to GM on a alt account because their main was in the looser que that day lmfao
Its easy in the first team fight pay attention to your team. Are they doing what is the BASIC requirement for their role in the rank you are at? If YES- play the game seriously
If NO- play something that requires zero brain function and just observe and laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation because it is all you can do.
And that’s why everyone should have individual skill/effort included in their ranks, It’s bizzare that a match with a supposedly “similar ranking range” have a grinder & human bot in it at the same time, how can they be in the same rank & how are they getting the almost exact same treatment if they were in on team?
Most streamers will play with their main, see the game has put them on a loss streak and switch to an alt. They’ll then jump back into their main account in a day or two, when it stops so they don’t derank too much. Everyone knows that the game will attempt to shaft them at some point.
