Ever since season 9 dropped, every single game i have crashed to my desktop with a white error popup message saying “the application encountered an unexpected error.” Literally. Every. Single. Game. I have updated drivers, updated windows, i have ran tests with my RAM, I have tried EVERY troubleshooting steps ive seen online, nothing works. I am currently talking to blizzard support, i have sent my MSInfo, and DxDiag. And the person came to the conclusion that it is “due to many background applications” Now, does this mean i have TOO MANY? or DUE TO many, like due to faulty applications? crash code is D6D2F598-4A5E-4462-AFFB-2394A95C764A. I can send DxDiag if somebody else can please take a look and help me.
Only Blizzard employees can read the crash code. I can read DxDiags and MSinfos. Please use Pastebin and link them here. Replies make them very messy to read.

SSDs require 15–20% free space to work properly; your two main drives are overfull and may not have space for their pagefile. This will absolutely cause problems with performance.
Additionally, multiple overlays are reporting crashes, and likely causing GPU driver crashes. If you review the error reporting at the end of the MSInfo, you’ll see what I mean. Here are a just a few of them:
2/19/2024 1:09 AM Application Hang The program XboxGameBarWidgets.exe
2/18/2024 8:40 AM Application Hang The program AMDPrivacyView.exe
2/16/2024 2:43 AM Application Hang The program TeamsClientXboxOverlays.exe
1/29/2024 4:04 AM Application Hang The program GameBar.exe
Turn off the Xbox Game Bar in Windows. Disable the other overlays. I also saw a few mentions of the Discord client, and tons of AppHang errors, which are related to no pagefile or RAM space available. This is all to say: I agree with the assessment you received in the ticket. There are too many apps running in the background, using up your system resources, and trying to write over where the game appears on the screen.
Yeah i do agree there way too many overlays and useless things running in the background, on one instance i did turn off game bar, and played a game and managed to crash again, after many restarts i guess it turned itself back on. And for AMD, i was afraid of turning anything AMD related off cause i just simply didnt know what itd do to my computer. Didnt wanna risk more issues, but ill give it a shot.
Here is the latest reply from blizzard support: *It seems your computer isn’t using the right graphics card for the game and is using the internal graphics card directly instead of the one you want. In terms of background softwares to close, we advise you to close AMD Relive Overlay as well as Corsair Utility Engine, as these tend to cause issues
So if its not using my actual graphics card, how do i have 600 fps maxed settings. And how can I run Skyrim at 4k? Now im just insanly confused on where to start. And as far as background sofwares, i will try to play with those closed, i doubt it will be the answer though. Ill have to try a driver uninstaller tool and try an old graphics driver, shot in the dark. Its just really confusing that this has only happened in season 9. Background processes has never been an issue for me with anything until now. Ill give it a shot.
New patches can add new checks for overlays, which can lead to crashing. Either way, the PC will perform better if you address those things.
