Insane stuttering - 0% GPU usage, CPU 100% usage

Since the OnePunch Man Update like 1.5 years ago, the game is unplayable for me. It stutters like crazy. Some update so-so fixes your game, than boom! You add these 100-200MB updates like today and you destroy everything. I play on low preset to get 144 fps, and I have it like 90% of the times. Than these stutters happen, I’m watching screenshots. No, it’s not my PC, only OW2 has this issue (btw OW"1" NEVER had any issue with my computer), yes everything updated, everything works, everything fresh, GPU reinstalled with DDU offline. Fix your game.

MSI Armor RX570 4GB, i5 9400f 6 cores CPU (every core maxed out lmao, this basically never happened in any game but OW2), 48GB DDR4 RAM. My CPU is barely 40 degrees celsius in games, my GPU is 64-65 degrees in game. Newest windows 10, newest bios, newest GPU driver. Everything’s fine, fix your game.

Do wait for a responsible adult to reply ;), but:

  1. have you checked for other software loading at startup (e.g. printer utilities)? (Click the ‘^’ bottom right of windows after starting, wait a while to check?
  2. Was the ram bought as a single kit of 48 gb, or have you bought more than one kit of the same ram?
  3. have you scanned for malware (w. e.g. windows defender - its free).
  4. Finally, you could also consider a fresh install of windows, sometimes helps.
    Good luck!

Yeah, I was stupid to buy a brand new ramkit (2x16GB), because stutters are usually because of faulty RAM. Of course nothing has changed, the game is still bad, so I just added another 2x8GB, because why not. No malware, I won’t reinstall windows, my computer is fine as I wrote. I also play Valorant, it’s running between 200-300 fps, no stutters. It’s only Overwatch 2.

Aha, do you happen to know what the Valorant anti-cheat software is doing whilst you play Overwatch 2? I’ve heard some troubling claims about that software, if I recall correctly, though I can’t attest to any of this.

Unless you have some special other purpose for your pc, this extra ram does nothing (have a look in e.g. hardware monitor - without 1,000 chrome tabs open or video editor software you arent using > 32 gb).
It would be odd that mismatch ram only caused a problem with one application, but the general view is it’s generally difficult to get a stable system with mixed kits.
Can you be 100% sure its ow and not your pc, without reaching out to other users with the same setup? Do they all have this problem with ow?
Good luck.

Valorant is fine with it’s anticheat (it actually works unlike OW’s), while Overwatch isn’t. It needs to be fixed.

Sounds like I’m not able to help you, but I would recommend considering whether your PC would run better with just two sticks of ram.
Sometimes having four sticks of ram means your memory controller loses dual channel access, so your memory bandwidth actually goes down.

Your CPU is trash, this is what you need

No thanks. Playing Final Fantasy 16 at the moment and Silent Hill 2 getting released in 2 weeks. Don’t want to upgrade, just the GPU sometime. I’m trying to get rid of everything in my computer, that’s AMD.

Oh looking for intel? There might be some cheap 13th/14th gen i9s around, if you’re feeling lucky today
