I’m now 29 mins in queue for quick play and counting. What happened? Did the console playerbase die out that quickly or is this a bug of the new S2 patch?
If you’re on tank then that’s probably why.
Nope. Queuing for DPS currently. Tank has higher estimated queue time bc of Rammatra I know
1.) Make sure you’ve got crossplay on.
2.) Depending on your region, if you’re queueing tank it might be normal.
3.) Try a reinstall. Was a guy recently who had stupidly long queue times in a and region and time that didn’t make sense, a reinstall fixed it for him somehow.
Reminder that you can use crossplay if you wish. Probably improves queue times.
- Blizzard treats support like garbage and spit in their faces…
- supports stop playing the game, or queue dps/tank
- queue times skyrocket…
If there was only something that blizzard could do to prevent this from happening.,. hmmm
Dead game. Most players have given up on Blizzard improving it and moved on to greener pastures.
Reset it after 5 minutes. There are times where that just bugs out.
I have crossplay turned on. No lag on any other game. Specifically been playing warzone 2 before trying this new season of OW. If this is a bug, this will definitely kill new players wanting to join.
Update: Finally got a game now after an embarassing 30+ mins of queue
QP queue times, aside from tank, were stellar for me yesterday.
Flex for once was a coin-toss between DPS and Supp.
Was the s2 launch so underwhelming that the playerbase peaced out in under 48 hours?
I mean, I did, but I figured I’d be hard minority.
console has always been a fairly dead playerbase. there were alot of people that used to play it at one point but the actual active playerbase is largely PC it would seem.
Support players are dropping out and DPS mains piling into the tank role to play as Ram, so there’s longer waits to get into a match. Like try queuing for support, it’s instant on PC and probably similar on console.
Lack of supports is the issue and I suppose lack of flex players too as flex players know that flex=almost always into support. Which a lot of them may not like doing every single match.
Quick update. Just finished one match. Next match queue was a minute and a half (showed 3 minutes in estimates when it was 17 mins before) so it’s probably a bug with matchmaking.
This is a terrible bug that will turn off quite a few players wanting to try this out
I experienced it myself in the end, anything other than QP had an insanely long queue time, arcade, OQ, didn’t matter, usually those modes have insta-queues, today I was waiting 4-5 minutes and didn’t find a match in the end. Queued for QP, found a match immediately, and after that match, the other modes’ queues were suddenly “fixed” and I was getting insta-queues again.
Very odd bug.
I think it’s all part of the plan.
Ever here of this?:

Sunset the product at the end of it’s lifecycle. We thought they were abandoning OW1 to focus on OW2, but it turns out they did zero work during the time we got zero content, and they still got paid big socal bucks!
I guess they’re sunsetting the entire franchise, or the studio. Just look at who is still working there. Yikes.
I don’t usually believe in conspiracy theories but the immense incompetence in the way OW2 is being handled makes me think if the devs are rebelling against Acti-Blizz or something
I am also thinking this. I meme their team4 for being bad and needing layoffs…but this is like…next level intelligent self-sabotage. They’re sandbagging the product before they’re liquidated to MSFT, I guess? Days at the office spent polishing the CV and mooching contacts at Riot or EA for an exit plan. Who knows.
Queue times are definitely longer now in comparison to the first few weeks of OW2. Flex used to be almost instant or a minute for me. Now it could sometimes take anywhere between 2-5 minutes. Also, these past couple of weeks backfills didn’t happen instantly. There were a number of matches where we didn’t get new teammates even after 2 minutes. These were my experiences mainly on QP.
