I am noticing a fairly large input spike when I fire shots. (I run about 3.3-3.5 sim while just moving around the practice range). The second I fire a shot the maximum sim jumps to 6.5 or so. While 6.5 might be an acceptable number what I’m trying to figure out is exactly why my input lag is doubling while firing. There is definitely something going on here. I can take a video of the issue as well as post my dxdiag tomorrow.

I recently ordered a 1080p 240hz Alienware monitor I will keep this post updated with the results.
I just can’t wrap my head around when I’m firing a widow maker shot my input lag is delayed by double? It’s not even so much that 6.5 is terrible it’s the inconsistency.
Oh wow, for that spec, is should not be like that, i mean like, that’s the normal gaming pc OWL player use right? How come this input lag keep spiking with that spec Blizzard?
Ihave the same problem too, its just my spec is i7 4790 and 750 ti which is worse
It’s your kill feed, and it’s kinda a known issue at this point but Blizzard doesn’t seem to do anything about it. Try turning off the kill feed in the training range and see if your SIM spikes.
I made a video about it but I can’t link it here. Go to youtube and search for Kill Feed SIM spikes.
I have this same problem as well. Input lag spikes. This fluctuations puts my aim off. I miss hits that I should hit as the reticle is on target but hit not registered.
I have unstable FPS as well. Which I can seem to figure out how and why.
Average fps while streaming 220~ but it dips to about 160-180fps and worse in teamfights.
Instability of FPS can cause input lag to increase. So I believe they are co-related.

Wow I’m going to test this…I know I’ve had an incredible amount of issues with my shots being delayed. Hopefully its as simple as this. I do definitely see SIM spikes even when my fps is locked much lower than it should be. It’ll be annoying to play without a kill feed but its a lot better than having the shot delay.
Ever found a solution? Issue has been bugging me for months now, can’t figure out why!! It’s not packet loss, I fixed my packet loss problem the other day which also caused lag, but my SIM still fluctuates as of today. Usually when ultimates/abilities are being used or whenever players change character. It remains mostly stable in training matches or skirmishes.
Specs are i7 3370k 3.5ghz
GTX 1660
16gb DDR3 1600mhz
I suspected it being a CPU/GPU bottleneck but the CPU doesn’t exceed 30% load, and GPU no more than 5% while running Overwatch… turning off the killfeed didn’t do the trick for me.
