I think my favorite instance is a video I just saw 2 days ago where someone is hacking on an enemy team so the tank on the team without the cheater leaves mid ranked game, turns on cheats and comes back into game rage hacking with hardlock aim on orisa and turns the dial to 11. the anti cheat was like a skyrim NPC “Huh, is someone over here? What was that?” then walks away LOL

I mean it wasn’t my game, it was a YouTube video from a content creator I follow. But for it to be so bad that the tank was willing to do that knowing he would not get in trouble is WILD.
Most cheaters I encounter are aim-bots that are just embarrassingly obvious so it’s an easy report. They don’t even try to hide it anymore.
they are to confident they aren’t going to be caught and from what is happening blizzard isn’t doing anything
I love Overwatch I truly, truly do. but they leave everything to automated systems. simple recolors of skins for “new” content and false / empty and unfilled promises for new content. I feel like we would all be okay with the content if they just did something original and didnt overpromise and under deliver or not deliver at all.
What ever happened to active communication and truthfulness.
I remember when blizzard would shut down WoW for 3 days to ensure they fixed the problems. instead of band-aiding them.

Can people do DDOs lag to a single player? I swear I ranomly got disconnected from the server once when I was playing well. But maybe it was just the bad servers in OCE or Telstra being unreliable.
Some actual hacking or severe security bugs aside (as opposed to cheating), no. Your IP doesn’t get transmitted to other players.

they flood the lobby of all players but themselves so when the data reconnects they have “warped”

OK so I never encountered a cheater before but yesterday for the first I came across one that I think was cheating. No idea if it was just a smurf (which is why I haven’t reported yet) and therefore a good player but it seemed suspicious.

Suspected cheater is the Soldier in the winning team.

Cheating on tank is much prevalent than most think and it is usually only active for close combat
Orisa shooting from range? You don’t see anything suspicious, she is getting close and tracks perfectly.
Not just Orisa, across all tanks
Generally detecting cheats can be quite hard, since many use it as just aim assist and it’s quite hard to differentiate if just good or cheating, but if a low gold plays like diamond, he gets a report

Yeah I had the suspicion of wallhacks too, because often it seemed he started tracking people through walls way before you could hear any sounds or could have calculated that they were going there.
Also the recoil seemed to be almost non-existant lol
Yeah you can see when he peaks like the hanzo with no info of him being there and the ana gets tracked as she goes back up the stairs
What I don’t understand is how their anti cheat system doesn’t pick up absurdly obvious behavior. Like anything landing headshots one after another. Not even the best player in the world lands 100% hits to head with Soldier 76. Cheaters do this to multiple targets. You have 100% headshot rate to 10 different targets. Just ban that.
Or things like spinbotting. If anyone is spinning the entire time, ban them. Server is registering a perpetual spin. Is it really so hard to just outright ban them?

I think it picks it up, but instead of insta ban they observe, gather data on player behavior and so on.
We don’t know how many instalock cheaters get immediately banned
For spin botters, there is nothing to observe, even Stevie Wonder can see it, it’s that obvious. Also what they have to observe? They have all the server telemetry. If they can’t do it after all these years of data, they never will.
