Indicate a player's profile is hidden or not from outside

I just want it to be visible from outside so that I can see the player’s name card and know before I click whether or not the person has hidden their profile.

Yeah like a red and or green thingy. Or a lock.

This is a pretty common and reasonable request. I definitely think Blizzard should do it. But this request has been there for years and they haven’t yet, so I am not hopeful they will. It seems like common sense to me.

Is saving the 5 seconds it takes to click through to “view profile” really worth it or would it have any benefits?

Like if they made it hard to get to the point of viewing a profile I would get that. But it’s really just like 5 clicks

It is just a simple thing to indicate it at first.

OW2 has pretty bad UX/UI honestly there is so many thinks that can be done to improve it. If the profile is hidden then the selection should just be greyed out which is simple and clear.

I am relatively certain Blizzard indicated it was something they were interested in doing. That might have been before the “second team” in Stadium that was totally not in response to Mahvel, however. Who knows if we will ever get it because as someone who does not understand coding, I am sure a lock icon is well beyond the scope of their capabilities.

Overwatch 1 had a scroll-over system, where you could see bits of their profile when you scrolled over their username.

If it’s private, it could be changed to show that, so you don’t have to click on their profile.
