people that cheat usually lack extremely in other aspects of their gameplay.
not saying regular players can beat that, as they too make mistakes and bad moves.
The new roll out of anti cheat is on the horizon. The good news is that in every fps game there is a surge of cheating, forcing the hand of game makers to provide a solution. When the very best version of this comes out on a year or two, cheating will become so cost prohibitive that these losers won’t be able to keep up, and the ones that do will have their fun short lived. I’m looking forward to getting this fantastic game back to what it’s supposed to be, free from cheaters.
People aren’t cheating as much as you think, and every single time you’ve claimed to have seen a cheater it’s been a blatant lie. Forgive me if I don’t take you seriously.
There definitely are much more cheaters in OW2 than OW1. It is because of the low barrier cost of entry. If people have access to cheap key resellers, loopholes, or the now F2P model Blizzard is using for OW2 then it’s easy.
You probably encountered players that looked like they’re cheating but weren’t. You probably encountered players that didn’t look like they’re cheating but actually were. It’s not possible for us to know who a cheater is. Just report suspected players to Blizzard and if they do detect cheat software on their end then that’s it.
Cheating makes no sense for those that have big time and $$$ invested in their account cosmetics. Why risk a perma-ban when that account is worth hundreds of USD or more?
I guess cheating is less risky for new accounts with zero financial investment, but having those cheats on your PC could also get your main account banned if the same PC used for cheating is linked to the to both accounts via server logs.
Actually this is why everyone is smurfing. Bunch of losers who want to stomp on lowbies.
The other day I saw someone mention they had 30 alt accounts. THIRTY.
You know why hardly anyone uses cheats for online gaming in South Korea? They make you register your Korean social security number with every game, and when you’re caught you can face up to 5 years in prison and/or pay $43,000. It’s the law…
I still remember when someone used cheats to mug other players in a PVP MMO, collect their loot, then sold it on e-bay for a hefty profit. That crook got arrested and did actual prison time for their virtual muggings.
I don’t like giving my Social to the bank (nor is it even necessary except for arbitrary laws saying they need it), I don’t want to give it to Blizzard nor does the US government need to insert itself further into my life than it already uncomfortably has.
i think cheaters should be publicly humiliated in the game like when they are removed instead of the generic message xuser has left or whatever it will say xuser has been caught cheating and has been banned
Thought every developer ever who made an “anti-cheat”.
Build a better mousetrap and a better mouse will evolve.
Cheaters, for whatever motivation they have, will always be present, always defy logic to justify their cheating, and always find ways around “anti” cheats.
The reason cheating always comes around is it’s become it’s own multi-billion dollar industry. Capitalism works on both sides.
The only way to reduce it dramatically is to have draconian laws that put wayy too much power into the government for the sake of a video game.
