The game has repeatedly told me that I am inactive, even when I am moving and shooting. It did it once a couple of days ago, then twice the next day, three times the next and four times today already. Please help because this cannot keep happening! I am trying to play with friends on the Halloween event…

The inactivity metric only counts damage done as being active. Shooting but missing, or being blocked by shields such as hitting Sym ult walls for example, using of healing or damage amp, etc. does not count for the metric. Only actively causing damage counts.
And, yes, it is annoying and stupid in my opinion.
I was even playing as Widowmaker and was hitting things. So, yes, I was still active and it kicked me while I was shooting and killing.
I just had the same issue. Playing a support and it kicked me out of the game and it wouldn’t let me rejoin.
