Inactivity timer too stiff

I hear the inactivity timer beeping but it doesnt help because it takes 5 extra seconds to roll out of spawn. This timer is either too short or too long. Either make it longer, or make it shorter but as soon as i touch the mouse it stops.

I mean… if you’re hearing the inactivity timer that means you’ve done literally nothing in spawn for it to start going. So stop staring at your phone in matches lol.

Ya, if you think I’m actually starring at the Waiting for Game screen for 7-13 minutes you’re mistaking me for a goldfish. Most of the time I’m watching a video eating a slice of pizza or something and have to wipe my hands cause my kbm is like 400 bucks not greasing them up over that.

here’s the fix:

One mouse tap, it stops that harassing timer for 10 seconds, after that, another 5 second “get out of spawn or else” timer is started and boots you. This way i dont have to pick tracer ball just to barely make it out of the spawn while the timer is at like 90%

Well, then don’t complain when you get kicked, since you basically screwed your team out of the first fight lol.

Even if you’re tabbed out, you can still hear when a game is found giving you more than enough time to tab back in and choose a hero before the game begins.

If you’re eating, then do that before you queue? All I’m reading are excuses, to be quite frank.

Your impatience doesn’t give you a right to screw your team over.

You’re entirely correct but I play a lot of other games and this doesn’t happen. I also posted a solution. Not sure why they leave it for people to get kicked like this. The game’s starting right now as I finish typing this… I see it happen to other people all the time.

:weary:

Bots and macros can exploit your idea.

I have a PC that sometimes takes a bit to load. So sometimes i’m still loading and inactivity shows up…

The timer is there for a reason. So that way another person can fill the slot.

HOWEVER…

The bad thing about this game is the fact that If a person hits the timer and is ejected from the match they should NOT be allowed back into the same match.

The other night I had a match that I did NOT want to play, at all. I am like. Okay. I am going to leave this match there is no point in me being here. Bad hero picks, Unfair 6-stack , all with accounts that have over 2,000 hours on them and they immediately go OUT of the gate and blow apart 3 of my team mates. I am like “nah, i am good, that is just too much abuse”.

I press leave and then re-q. 10 seconds later I am back in the same match and that team is 1/4 of the way through the first part of 66. SO I bail AGAIN. re-q. 10 seconds later. I am back. I leave again and give it 30. I press Q again and there I am in the match AGAIN.

SO this time I ride out the AFK timer and let it boot me from the match and do this 3 other times. It keeps “sucking” me back into the same match.

by the 6th time, the match was NEARLY complete. With 7 minutes REMAINING on the clock and we lose.

So what did this accomplish. NOTHING.

From my standpoint: It doesn’t help me any. I dont care about the match, I wanted nothing to do with it.

For my team. It did nothing for them. i didn’t want to be there, they didn’t need me. I would have prolonged a lost cause at best. 10 or 15 seconds.

and the fact that this server was wasting TIME to keep pulling me back in and out of the match is even more pathetic. …

MAYBE the system should have JUST pulled a different player in the first place!

I know you won’t understand what I am about to say but I systematically report people like you for gameplay sabotage. But first, I make fun of them in the chat, of course.

I mean lets take a look at this in a philosophical approach in a democracy unto itself.

I am NOT in control of the game, and do NOT own the servers. I am NOT in control of the servers, nor Have I wrote the scripts to build the match.

If I don’t want to be there. I don’t want to be there. By pressing “LEAVE” in an UNRANKED mode. I am volunteering to LEAVE so another player can fill my place.

A SMART approach would be for the server to look at the next available player and FILL the slot. If it cannot find a player to fill the slot, it should scripted to find someone else outside of that mmr range to fill in. Since as the match progresses.

The bad idea to “suck” the player back into the match is simply that. A “BAD IDEA”.

EXAMPLE: The same thing goes for an extremely loud rock concert. If the music is much too loud for you, you have a splitting headache and want to go back to your car (or truck) For Headache meds. You would not appreciate the security staff going “hey, get back in there and finish listening to the show”, and then keep shoving you back into the venue. While instead you want to go next door and listen to some Jazz or smooth rock.

It falls within a “reasonable expectation” clause. and therefor would NOT be gameplay sabotage.

All that matters is that we’re fighting over an effin beep. So, the beep is bad. fix beep

So wait, you decide “This game sucks. I don’t want to play it. Someone else should play it instead”? If you leave the game, sure. But if you don’t want to play, don’t play. When you queue, you signed up to play the round, even if it isn’t a winning round.

I mean in all fairness. Lets say I am a construction worker, I work for a company and there are 3 job sites that are active in the area. I go to a job site. I am going to put up a building. The crew shows up but the guy with the tools never shows up to the work site? Am i going sit around at that job site waiting all day, or move on to the next work site and work there instead?

Me, I am going to leave and go to the next job. Because my time is valuable elsewhere. Life gives us roughly 876,000 hours to be had with. That is a harsh chunk of reality to consume. :face_with_monocle:

I think this turns into a philosophical discussion. We aren’t going to agree here and that is okay. In all fairness we both see this from a different view point. I am sorry we just can’t agree.

Anyway, Thank you.

That’s not really it. It’s more like opening a pack of trading cards. Sometimes you get a rare card, sometimes you get junk. But you can’t turn around and say “This pack has nothing good. I want a new one. Give this one to someone else”

the worst is in comp when you cant even rejoin. Booted whilst sprinting out of spawn on soldier.

um… ok, I dont think that is how it works. I guess…

I think I’ve had the “mike tyson” discussion before. Where it goes like this:

(story time).

EXAMPLE STORY:

So we will call the event organizer “Blizard”. Yes, the event organizer. They are going to organize a FIGHT for Madison Square Garden. We are all pumped up that we are playing in OUR weight class, and we are going to have 5 random people on OUR team. Including myself. So that is 6. I might be given one other fighter that is at my level and knows how to fight. hes fought in plenty of matches, and so have I. We are told by the organizer we get 4 other people that are new, and this will just be a simple match against other players.

The expectation is. we are going to be going up against rookies as well.

So we are going to get ready to go out and fight in this HUGE match. But instead of 6 other rookies on the other team, guess what. We have 1 mike tyson and they made 5 other clones of him for his team. So as rookies we have to fight 6 MIKE TYSONS.

I dont know about you, or anyone else here. But I would BACK DOWN and leave the match. i would tell the organizer. “hey, I am not going in there and fighting in the match”. but the organizer is like “hey, you have to!” , Or you have to sit out the rest of the season because YOU don’t want to play in the match WE arranged for you!"

Sure, the organizer is going to make BIG BUCKS off of the views, of seeing 6 rookies get beat down and folks are going to enjoy it. But the rookies fighting in that match, more than likely are going to be drastically HURT.

When I back out of a Quickplay Match, i am doing it for a reason. Because I dont want to be on a team of rookies, with no Record of experience, and I don’t want to be beat down for the next 10 minutes of my life. I also back out for a couple of other reasons.

  • Stackers
  • and Time played balance not being there.

I simply go "I’d like to find another match that seams like the fight is going to be equal. I know in a perfect world that will NEVER happen. But I do believe it starts with Blizzard (the organizer of the match) doing a better job at arranging events. I know that random players come in and out of the servers all of the time, and everyone lives 100-1000 miles apart or more. But sometimes I just think they could do a better job at organizing the match.

And as for my last little part… If someone backs out of the match. Don’t put them back in. They aren’t wanting to be there in the first place. Otherwise it is just wasting their time, and everyone elses.

I do see what you’re saying here. That you think it’s a poor use of time to play a very uphill fight. But I don’t think it’s right that someone else gets put against these 6 Mike Tysons while ALSO starting where Team Mike has 30% of a winning score because they were put in late.
