She seems to be the safe pick for top tier play, but what situation would dispel that?

Tracer is good if player is good, tracer is bad when player is bad.

Correction, Tracer is only good when Player is awesome. Tracer is bad when Player is only good. Tracer is Trollpick, when Player is bad. (all valid for comp only, in QP… you have to practise somewhere, right?)

This used to be true before the aim hack patch, nowadays average soldier main thinks he is a tracer player

In kabaji’s situation, dafran’s situation, OWL pro situation… if you were not a 4.7k hitscan in OW1 don’t even consider, same for widow.
In every situation. She’s busted.

Close. Tracer is a broken monster when the player is awesome. The rest was spot on though.
Unnerfed defense heroes.
Despite their delusions of skill, Tracer mains have never been able to outduel actual defense heroes that arent overnerfed husks.
Tracer mains are historically addicted to balance handouts from the devs, like every other hitscan mains.

this is true, but being made useless due to some soft counters isn’t really fun : (
Torb or Illari makes her harder to work in. If you have a team comp that plays well into tracer than you can play her against anything.
If you have a team comp that isn’t tracer friendly you can play her into almost anything.
Only when her mobility is hard nerfed.
That applies for any hero.

if enemy team is running a more defensive comp like a Brig Moira backline with Cassidy Mei
it’s unorthodox though i barely even see these defensive comps played. she doesn’t even get “hard” countered by this comp and is definitely still playable but probably better to switch in that scenario
The worse thing that can happen to a tracer is an enemy dva synching her DM with Tracers reloads.

which means for the 99% of players, tracer is a bad hero to pick.
its still true today, more consistency doesnt make a bad player a god (or even competent for that matter)
she does less dmg proportionally then before but she does it alot more consistently.
just to give you an idea, pre patch she had a +20% of the average squishys hp for her dps (240) in the current patch that would be equal to 300 dps
so if they were to just hard revert tracer’s bullets to normal, they’d have to compensate her to 275-300dps to make her good again.
id personally prefer the bigger bullets with her only doing 240dps lol

That is why the H key exists. Use it.
Depends on the skill of the player, but if the enemy team has like Cassidy, Kiriko, Lucio, Torb, Pharah, Roadhog, it could be tough for the Tracer but it can still work
Buddy stop acting like the hitbox changes turn hero hitboxes into a wall. This patch improved peoples accuracy maybe 2%. Your not dying cause your being shot with logs. Your dying because you were caught in a bad position
For me personally on tracer my AVG aim increase is 10% from 30 to 40 in good games even more, this is hugely significant for tracer.
This is in diamond, will be even more for ranks above.
Let’s not pretend like this was not a aimbot patch that watered down the aim skill req

In 7 years tracer even when hard meta never had positive wr below masters.
Now bronze tracer’s have 52 wr😂
That rank never had positive wr on any hero most of the time.
Tracer now suddenly has positive wr in all ranks before this patch only gm had, so when me in diamond had positive wr on tracer before this patch it was skill.
Now every pleb can play her 
It’s not elitism from me cause if aimhacks patch is not reversed they will ruin my main.
I don’t want a hero who used to represent skill expression and gave you satisfaction get ruined cause people who can’t aim want to play her, go play single player games with aim lock or play some other hero, not everyone needs to play tracer.
It’s not just tracer the aimbot patch has watered down many heroes.

Has nothing to do with the hitbox change. Has everything to do with her base playstyle “dive” being the meta. The meta and heroes who fall into that meta will always have a higher Win rate. Use your brain
