In-game items need to be refundable

I accidentally bought a highlight intro for 700 coins or credits, whichever is the paid one, when I meant to use the free currency. Sorry says I’m SOL because they don’t “refund in-game currency” which I find to be absolutely stupid because that’s the only way you can actually buy things in the game. Anyway, I’ve uninstalled the game but hopefully this gets done changes made for the rest of y’all.

The current refund system is a joke and the n-game refunds need to be issuable. Fortnite allows 3 refunds in a 12 month period and Overwatch should be no different, especially when the currencies purposefully look the same in order to confuse players. I’ve contacted story and they told me there’s no possible fix because they can’t issue refunds in items purchased with in-game currency. YOU’RE THE ONES WHO MAKE US USE IN-GAME CURRENCY in order to obfuscate how much money people are ACTUALLY spending and it’s all disgusting, but that’s besides the point. ADD IN-GAME REFUNDS.

How do you “accidentally” buy something, lol

I kind of don’t want you on my team if you can’t even figure out how to not click buttons

refunding for coins for stuff i dont want and am never going to wear would be sweet, too sweet for actibliz to allow

a marketplace would be awesome too but i dont see actibliz allowing it in this game, plus the botting issue that would create is non-negligible

maybe tho

Meant to buy it with one currency and used the other. It’s possible when they look exactly the same and the game will just default to one or the other randomly for your purchase

How do you “accidentally” buy something? The currency you use is in 2 different colors, and you have to click a confirmation button just to buy it. This just sounds like you did it in a rush, and deflected.

make a support ticket they’ll absolutely refund it for you

one time i bought the wrong packs in hearthstone and they gave me back my gold i don’t see why they wouldn’t do the same in ow

They employed dark patterns and they know they screwed up because in another update, they are changing entirely how the overwatch credits look and enforcing a strict color scheme. Before this patch, overwatch credits were GOLD on the battlepass instead of grey which tricked many consumers including me. The only difference between the two symbols is one has a hexagon encircling the =, and another has a circle.

And if someone can purchase something with overwatch credits instead of currency in the hero gallery, the fact that it shows BOTH options is incredibly scummy and they just want to skim profit off of random human error.

That’s the new excuse for bad players. Accidentally missed shots.

That player was a similar color as the wall!

I can’t differentiate!!!

Because (until the last few days) the credits looked exactly like the coins. Prime example of decesive marketing

It’s truly amazing that people have such a hard time differentiating things like that. I guess if they really are trying to be scummy, they know how to take advantage of these people. :person_shrugging:

But think about it, those who are new to the game how can differentiate the two currency? They’ve did it on purpose

Uh, because they are different? Rather than them being “scummy,” it’s more likely they just overestimated people’s basic level of intelligence.

I’m wondering if making one a square and one a circle will even be enough to help people.

Its not hard, especially considering that ive more than once checked of the “legacy credits” box when buying an emote only for it to try and purchase it with actual credits
