In blitz lock the flag for 30 seconds or so

As somehow who does it constantly, Hammond can grab and capture the flag before the enemy team can even reach the flag to stop him. So just locking it to allow both teams to get there would help greatly with instant captures.

I think you misunderstand the intention of Blitz. That might be a better idea for competitive CTF.

I know the intention of blitz but all I’m saying is allow the teams to get there so Hammond can’t automatically score a point.

Yes but I mean he can grapple to the flag before the enemy team has fully left spawn.

How is this a well intentioned feature of the mode? You can pick a really specific hero, capture the flag with literally -no contest-. The only hero capable of getting there in time is a sombra running full sprint while invis with a dedicated lucio on speed boost - and on most maps he is already on his way back. Sombra cant do enough damage to stop him.

Imagine if in quick play or any arcade mode, picking hammond made you start with 20% of the objective on any KOTH map. That would be so stupid.

I am not sure how it works exactly, all the Hammond on my team die instantly when they try it. They might just suck, it is arcade after all. I guess I would need to test it for myself to see if it is actually free.

They must suck indeed, because it’s pretty trivial to pull off.

No need to test. I can confirm for you it is. When I go against known hammond players that I know will do I, i do exactly what I described above (sombra + lucio) and 4/5 times there’s literally nothing you can do. By the time you get there and deal any measurable amount of damage, he is half way back and his team has arrived to heal him up. There may be an ever so slight variation depending on the map and the exact spacing between spawn and the flags.

But any decent hammond will get a free cap nearly every time.

I can consistently pull it off as long as Lucio gives a slight boost out spawn, but while complaining about it, it’s funny to see Hammond race across the map.
