Trying to dive widow/hanzo and they just escape and kill a squishy on his team. Then you feel bad that you didn’t do your job correctly and then realize that you don’t actually counter snipers.

Winston isn’t a counter for either widow or hanzo, sick of hearing this.
You dive widow she grapple away to safety, you dive Hanzo he shreds you to bits.
Problem isn’t winston is bad. It’s that Hanzo and Widow are completely and utterly gamebreakingly overpowered. At this point I wouldn’t mind them nerfed into oblivion.

Winston is a main tank.
You need a support tank to assist your dives.
Stop diving alone when your kit isn’t designed to attack said characters alone…and go in with Dva.

How do you make Winston counter someone all by himself and give the other hero any chance at counterplay

But I absolutely agree with that, one hero shouldn’t be that game-changing that the entire team must alter the comp for that ONE HERO. When, off the top of my head, Bastion and Brig were back in the day, they got nerfed.
Any rank Plat + (and even some high Gold games) has the “ridiculously good Widow” issue. The game has been out for years, and in the higher ranks these people have had ages to practice their favourite little husband-killer.
So you’re a little bit screwed, unless you have a better Widow…but that never happens lol.

At this point, I really don’t care. Just make him insta kill them or something. Call me dumb or anything but I’m sick of those two characters, doom too. I haven’t touched comp in like a month because games are literally decided by the better sniper.
