It is not a direct criticism of 2-2-2, but it is precisely the continuing uncertainty on the basis of this game.
Every rework, every manipulation of the rules, every single measure is certainly designed to “improve things” over time, but this does not change that they increasingly divide the community by having the players quarrel among themselves (or spoiling them that everything is 100% manipulable ).
This game has 3 years old and we are still laying the foundations instead of having simply accessory and quality contents (comics, short films, arcade events, etc.) that instead should thrill the gamer more and more in the atmosphere, regardless of balancing "temporarily "unfavorable to certain characters.
And no, it is not enough to hear me say “but there have been some contents, you see this or that” because numerically and qualitatively the accessory part of the game has dropped drastically in favor of a continuous experimentation of the bases … or worse, to cure rather the the exhibition side of the game (E-sport).
I feel like when I try an Steam early access, everything can change, nothing evolves to let me discover details of the outline
Don’t be confused by the fact that people constantly demand every conceivable change and also complain about every change that is implemented. People very often come to the forums just to complain about a change they don’t like. It always looks like every issue* has a 50/50 split if you take a quick glance at the forums, but that’s not true at all.
People just like to complain, and once complaints are out there, people also like to argue. It doesn’t mean the player base as a whole is actually divided on an issue, it just means the forums are a place full of complaining and arguing.
So… if this isn’t about 2-2-2… then… you don’t want new heroes and new maps? I think you’re going to find yourself in the very small minority on that one.
I mean, 1-hero limit was a huge change to the way the game is played, and so is the Role Queue, but those are the only things that I think could possibly be said to change the foundation of the game.
Even relatively big changes (mostly to 2cp aren’t they?) eliminating the coin toss, adding capture ticks, changing the time/respawn times on 2nd point capture have relatively little affect on how you actually play the game and are mostly QoL changes.
*Okay, almost always looks like almost every issue has a 50/50 split… there are the occasional requests to buff heroes widely recognized as OP or nerf heroes widely recognized as UP ; also I don’t think too many people cried when the coin toss went away.
