Seriously getting absolutely sick of the console overwatch and it’s toxic cesspool of a community, to preface this I’m Diamond on Support and DPS on NA servers and have been playing since the original Overwatch open beta. There are several issues plaguing the console community in my opinion allow me to list them:
Toxicity is rampant when it comes to text chat constant homophobic, transphobic, and racist slurs being thrown around in 7/10 of my most recent 10 games. Everyone does it because they know they can get away with it because your average console player is simply too dumb to use the report feature properly.
Input spoofers such as XIM 4 and cronus zen are rampant in the community, everyone knows at any given time that about say 80% of the top 500 leader board is using Xim, they’re easy to spot too since it’s always someone who is playing Widow maker, Ashe, Soldier 76, Cassidy, and Baptiste. Starting at diamond it’s very easy to notice and worst part is these people have the postioning and game sense of a silver but act like they’re good because they can out aim everyone by cheating. If I hear a teammate on hot mic using a keyboard I will immediately leave at the right time so they are insured a lost, don’t care about my own SR loss either. These things have singe handedly ruin any fair competition on console and it’s absolutely depressing to see.
No one in ranked really tries much, partly due to how inflated ranks truly are on console queue IMO. Like it’s so easy to get out of metal ranks on console simply through luck sometimes, wasn’t my case since it was skill and learning the game but definitely now since it’s F2P it’s definitely become a major issue.
Smurfing is everywhere, I blame Microsoft and Sony for not trying to ever tackle premium membership sharing since all it takes is one PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership account to make an infinite amount of accounts. This also part of Xim issue since all smurfs that are in diamond elo are using it, absolutely pathetic behavior.
No one and I mean no one uses voice chat, remember when everyone had a mic in a Halo 3 lobby? Pepperidge farm remembers. Seriously tho console player refuse to communicate and will only do so to be an ***hole in text chat.

This does not change on PC. F2P people do not care about being banned.
… game is f2p now. Smurfing is worse than ever. The phone verification does nothing.
… This also does not improve on PC.
I suggest if you want to PC GAME then building a PC will be rewarding and fun. However if you’re trying to escape all of these supposed “console” problems, a PC is not going to help for a lot of them.
This is all that needs to be said. I played on Xbox for 2500 hours and on PC for 1000, it’s much worse on PC than console ever was. You won’t escape anything, it’ll basically be going from the frying pan into the fire.
Eh interesting, tbh you would think that people wouldn’t really buy XIM stuff, certainly something.
Well, we might be seeing an end in XIM soon.
R6 is already trying out new tech to battle against this, assuming this wil work well, other companies might be able to make such systems too.
Yeah I play a ton of R6 too, I was so happy when they announced that. Honestly Ubisoft could take it further and so Xim themselves and it’s relatively easy since the company is operated from Nevada, USA.
