Im thinking about getting TF2

I hear people saying it’s great and and stuff but all I really know is that it’s similar to ow and is more loopy (which I love in games) is the community still active?

Yep and considering it’s free to play on steam I’d say go for it if you can

cool. so its not actually dead is it?
because I’ve heard you can sellotape a knife to another knife and that’s enough to make me love a game

nope it’s still pretty active for game that came out in 2007

There are more ways to have fun in TF2 than OW will ever have.

You can’t buy it, because is free.

It’s free, and player numbers generally settle around 50k at the very least, so finding games certainly isn’t a problem.

It’s been out for 11 years, and it survived overwatch and fortnite at their peaks. You can chillax on community servers or compete. It has a lot of hats that cost money, but you can also get items through random number generators. It was also Overwatch’s top competitor before Fortnite and my ship between the two is Scout x Brigitte unlike the common Scout x Tracer.

Downloading as we type. The comments back at steam say something about a bad learning curve care to comment on that?

I wish it had female playable characters. I might even consider playing it if it did.

It’s free so whatever

It was dead for a bit, but the Jungle Inferno came out last year and now I’m seeing a lot more activity on TF2. Honestly, the only thing I really don’t like about it is the community’s stigma against F2P and how half the roster isn’t meta. Last I checked, the “meta” was Soldier, Medic, Scout, Demoman. But usually, if you’re playing casual, those two aren’t as prevalent.

Yeah, the tutorial’s not very good. Doesn’t really talk to you about team comps or gamesense or positioning or anything like that. It just goes you through four of the nine classes, and shows you how their weapons work. It doesn’t really go in depth so there is a pretty steep learning curve. The game’s still fun, though. I would recommend it if you’re willing to deal with the learning curve and the stigmas I mentioned earlier.

Isn’t there a widely varied character customizer though
weird, a game this old not have any females…

In my personal opinion, people tend to overstate the learning curve a little bit. If you have past experience with fps games I think you’ll catch on with just a little trial and error. However the game offers basically zero tools to help new players (the tutorial is bare bones and the ‘coaching’ system is broken), so starting out can be an interesting experience…

Don’t forget to blame all those 3 or more Spies and Snipers on your team

the only reason to play it today is jailbreak.

It’s just way uglier and feels so empty compared to ow. I can’t go back to it since I started playing ow.

I don’t understand games that have more than 2 playable characters with none of them being female. What is the point of having a choice if none of them are cute girls?
