Funny, because when I started this game he was the first character that I picked up to Plat level. I used to like him. Now that I mostly play Supports, I hate him and especially hate him when the enemy has him and my high IQ tank teammates are playing a comp like Orisa + D.va getting rolled by Rein + Zarya and refuse to switch.
Its your teammates being dumb, hero with synergies should win by default at the same skill level.

Donât know who TF this is. But Iâm really starting to resent this character and he is creating toxic situations when my teammates refuse to mirror Rein + Zarya comps, or pick him. Everyone blames the tanks (including myself), teammates fight between themselves and the D.va one trick keep feeding, the Orisa keeps getting rolled, the Winston keeps dying to charges. Iâm so sick of it. Maybe I should just start playing tank myself and ALWAYS pick Reinhardt.

I too am no Rein fan. But I feel like heâs mandatory to have on the team, or you have a disaster like you mentioned.

Make the horse sit on high ground and help dva dive the supports. Poke and dive eats rein ZARYA ALIVE. Also most brawly comps have high damage but less cc so diving supports is easier.
Dive eats Rein Zarya alive? Huh? You mean only dive with a competent Hammond, and competent Hamsters are almost non-existent in Plat.
Winston is hot thrash. Iâll laugh at the face of anyone who suggests otherwise.

Winston is still not good, and watching streams of GM and pros is showing a disheartening amount of double shield.
Winston I think is more of a case of map geometries and how much anti-winston is being run.
On maps like Gibraltar you can pretty much ignore most Zarya/Rein combos and just pick apart back lines shooting over and diving behind the two tanks. Zarya doesnât gain much charge on winston and takes forever to destroy shields on her own. Reinhardt is slow and short range.
I think I saw Winston with 550 hp in the recent OW2 video, but I could be wrong. I know for a fact I saw his ult at 1050 hp with at least 150 of that being armor.

IMO:
Without a good shield⌠which is essentially Rein or a GOOD Sigma, and definitely not Orisa, you run too high a risk of fights being over before theyâve begun, especially at Diamond and below.
No shield, youâll probably get clipped by a Widow who is 100m outside any reasonable fight.
Fun game.
Youâll DEFINITELY get Anti-naded, which is a horribly OP ability, and ruins fights before theyâve even started in may cases.
If players and Blizzard donât want shields (and by association the heroes that use them) to be ubiquitous in certain ranks (or just in general) then they need to do something about âunanswerableâ actions that force people into feeling like they need to use a shield (a good shield, e.g. a good shield tank.)
Sure, make Rein fast and fun, and give him an 800HP shield (if thatâs our balance starting point) but as long as Widow can one-shot someone from across the map in this painfully slow 5.5m/s game, then lots more people will have less fun, imo.
Shields are there and popular for a reason. If theyâre not good enough, then snipers and stuff like ANTI and Discord need nerfs.

Bruh, I understand where youâre coming from, but Winston is pretty much shut down by half of the DPS roster. McCreeâs popular AF right now and he obliterates WInston. The Winston has to be 10000x times better and more skilled to be effective against a team that is running like Reaper or McCree.
Reaper is pretty hot garbage against winston right now. He kills the shield and armor a lot slower, and his extended range isnt enough to make up for the fact he still needs to get a hell of a lot closer than the other hitscan heroes.
I am more scared of mcree or tracer than I am of reaper, even at close range.
First of all, Reinhardt zarya is a good comp. always have been. But they are not unbeatable. In fact, people in gm beat it all the time, even though they mirror it most of the times. Rein and zarya have always been the tank duo comp to go for lower ranks. And they will always be. People in plat or whatever talk about âI love diveâ but dive was never meta in plat. Dive just isnât playable in plat because itâs too hard. Same for doubleshield since the shields now suck. Even if they nerf rein and zarya to the deepest bottom of hell they will always be the meta in diamond and bellow. And also how do you hate rein?? As a support player I would gladly play with, and against rein every single game for the rest of my life. Instead of doubleshield or ball/hog or dive or any other comp.
I would also gladly play with Rein for the rest of my life. In fact, I only want to play Comp games if my team picks Reinhardt because it is almost impossible to win otherwise.
However, WDYM with âyou would gladly play against Reinâ for the rest of your life? Do you like to die to like 2-3 melee attacks, random lucky charges or his obnoxious CC ult? I donât.
What makes me hate him the most is that Iâm always the first person he targets after a successful shatter. Go figure.
