I main pharah, I wanted to have a relaxing time and play her some in quickplay. The state of quickplay right now is really really really really really really really awful for Pharah players though. There’s literally double sniper and zen, or triple hitscan every match. My question is where the absolute hell are you supposed to play Pharah? Most people who are jerks say ‘you dont play her/only in arcade bro’ or something similar that just makes me more tilted

I queued into attack king’s row, chose Pharah, and what a surprise, was against widow, zen, ana, and mccree. I am doing okay with gold damage and gold elims but we aren’t taking point. My entire team starts blaming me
“Pharah get tf off and play someone else youre being triple countered”
etc

For the 9999^e time, I explained it to them that literally every match has double snipers or double/triple hitscan, so if I switched everytime I got countered, I’d literally never be able to play her ever.

“Then don’t”

I immediately left the match at the start of the next round (in team setup, not after it started)

Does anyone else get my utter frustration and anger this thing causes. People don’t understand what it feels like to get triple or even quadruple countered every.freaking.match and I’m not exaggerating. Most heroes only have one counter. The VERY rare match like 1/100 where there’s no hitscan or sniper I always comment on because it feels weird and like a special present from Jeff

As I show my face on Pharah, I get nonstop bullied by enemy snipers/hitscan the nanosecond I go airborne (so I play like a suicidal worse junkrat on foot), and my team bullies me too because they see the situation and all yell at me to switch nonstop. Life is only going to get more crap because of the hitscan falloff buffs in a few days, the mei icicle falloff buff, the new hammond hitscan, and the mercy healing nerf (she’s one of three healers that can actually heal Pharah properly)

Why are you leaving Pharah players out to dry Blizzard? Do you really hate us that much?/dont care? The literal last buff you ever gave Pharah was Nov. 2016, over a year and a half ago, over 550 days ago and it was just to her hovering efficiency, a simple quality of life movement buff. If you keep ignoring the suicide queen she will become F tier and I don’t want that to happen. I love this hero so much but it’s utter hell and anguish to play her nowadays unless you’re on console or less than/equal to silver PC (I play near diamond PC for a reference)

That’s not actually being countered. That’s how every other hero is with regard to incoming damage.

That’s called parity, and you need to learn to use cover instead of just relying on being in the air where short range weapons can’t reach you. Use building corners. Use pop-tarting, don’t just hover out in mid air then wonder why you got a bullet to the eye socket.

There are many maps where Pharah is very strong because they feature lots of aerial cover for her.

Pharah’s tricky because her only weaknesses are people who can actually aim, so she starts feeling rather useless in higher elos. But if you buff her, people in lower elos suffer, as well as console players.

So if she ever got a buff, it would have to be PC only (similar to the Torb turret nerf for console).

I’d like to see something for her Ult before anything else. Anymore, I just use it to kill a healer.

Unfortunately, it’s a cost of the current meta. That being said, we have a lot of changes coming in that will influence what people play.

Qp was sniper playground for over year now. Every single of my matches had at least one Widow. Double Sniper even before Hanzo rework was standart.
You can LFG where you tell teammates you wanna play Phara. On lower levels she still dominates especially since snipers there kinda sucks.

If you REALLY want to play Pharah without getting harassed, go to console. She’s essentially the equivalent of Widow/Tracer over there.

Otherwise, just leave voice chat.

When everything got buffed that favoured dive and Ana got nerfed at the same time, there was no difference in what you just mentioned.

All I wanted was to play atleast some Ana sometimes.

No one cared though. They told me to switch, leave the game, uninstall and so on.

Ana had no place in such a meta.

Snipers will receive some nerfs but hitscan will overall be buffed a fair bit so I’d say it only gets worse for you and Pharah I’m afraid.

I understand your frustration, I don’t feel sorry for you though.

The problem with one-tricking is that there are many times and and many metas where that one hero does not perform well. Your choices are to either tough it out or learn another hero.

I understand you. Pharah is my most played dps hero.

There is not much you can do once you’re up in the air. Pharahs biggest advantage is also her biggest weakness. Never stay too long in the open air and make sure you always know Widows location. It is more difficult with other snipers.

I actually made it to one of my primary goals to take out Widow as often as I can. To do that, she needs to have her attention somewhere else and you need to surprise her from behind.

Trust me I know how to play her and how to be a stealth divebomber after 390 hours on her. It’s just disheartening when everyone is getting buffed around her for the past year and a half but she’s being forgotten, and when matches end up with you getting triple bullied by counters and bullied by team too

If someone picks Pharah in QP I go Mercy but I cannot dedicate all my time to pocketing them, especially if I am solo healing or the other healer is Zen or someone who can’t substantially keep up the rest of the team.

Pharah can handle her counters kinda easily but people don’t like to hear that. I remember one time on a whim I got backfilled into a game in Junkertown and picked Pharah, and just dominated the enemy Widowmaker every single time. Like, every single time. They even said “Pharah. Plz. Leave me alone” and I laughed and said “no”.

Honestly, just ignore the haters man.
