I'm so sad the passives are already gone

I already miss it.
Everyone got the choice to slightly buff their hero for a little while in a way they like and now it’s gone.
It really helped bring back some of the power fantasy, that I feel is a bit missing from OW2. It was removed so quickly.
I barely had time to try it and it’s already gone.

I’m sure they’ll be back in some capacity once they fix the issues with them (most notably the clarity on which passive someone has).

Didn’t play tank that much but the few times I did, the debuff passive felt amazing.

They need to add passives that can at the very least help heroes weaknesses.

Ie brig and hanzo essentially got screwed since the effects of each passive were negligible for them.

But i agree i hope they bring it back permanently.

honestly i tried it and i think it didnt really make anything any better, just more complicated(?)

like, yea some of the passives are crazy but quick play was always a little crazy. also, the passives while they make countering more difficult, it works both ways for both teams, so it doesnt really make anybody stronger or weaker since anyone can use the passives so its sort of a global buff

some heroes benefit more than others, and some have minor benefits with others having major ones. it makes tanks a little too extreme though imo so id imagine in comp it would be much stronger counter-watch

You would think they’d have learned their lesson when they gave Mercy that passive a while back. Changing the threshold doesn’t solve the problem with it, and letting heroes that already do 70+ hps use it was a huge mistake. Suzu doesn’t need to heal for 120.

I can understand the Hanzo complaint, but Brigitte was a beast with the cooldown passive.

I mean in general I could tell based on hero choice. If you were Tracer you had ammo (as the other 2 were awful). If you were a tank like Queen you picked CDR.

From what I’ve seen, people really liked the idea but thought some passives were too good in general or on certain standout heroes. I’m hoping that means we can see these again in the future, in a healthier form, because it was honestly really cool having moments where I fended off 2 counters as tank because a passive change gave me an edge to outplay them, as opposed to swapping and hoping my 4 randoms are gonna play well around that

Yeah, but that’s metaknowledge. Not everyone is going to be in lockstep with what’s “optimal” and the customizable passives system needs to account for that.

My flex queues with passives = few mins into dps
My flex queues without passive = instant tank

Wasn’t even really here for more than a day or so. Albeit it was experimental. And I understand it’s not available in comp. But it was the first bonus to the gameplay since the game was launched, with the Expansion’s Talent System that never was.

The wall hack passive was awesome, so much fun catching people hiding in a corner.

The ungodly overpowered 12 second suzu was fun but it had to go.

I’m not. I’m so happy it’s over. I’m really really hoping this doesn’t get implemented.

Not if Granny also reduced her cd, then her nade outpaces suzu by 2 seconds again…

I agree with OP’s sentiment. More options is better than less. It needed to be visible in someway to all players. Like on the scoreboard itll show the passive selected but not the hero till after the match starts. The passives themselves also needed tweaking. Dps got screwed mostly, some buffs were too strong on some heroes.

I like the customization and I like more choices.

They should do it for the weekend, and then leave it up for like another week if anyone wants to play it. Or show the option when enough people are queue’d up for it.

I am upset about the fact that it was only playable for 2 days only…

Other game-modes and hacked QP lasted longer…
