I’ve been one of the biggest defenders of Overwatch 2 on here. I’ve gotta say though, Blizzard really missed the mark with Lifeweaver. I can see battle pass sales being really low because of lack of interest players will have in unlocking this hero.

I agree his design sucks, both in terms of aesthetic and game design.

I mean they designed him stereotypically, gave him a matching sexuality to fit said stereotype, and put that as his main trait…

Jesus. I know you’ve been told a third party did all that. And honestly if the hair was different most complaints would go away.
We’ve basically spent 24 hours arguing about bangs and rumors. It’s fun. But it’s also true.

I think his design is pretty good tbh. He doesn’t look Thai if that’s what they were going for though….

And the article mentioned his actual main trait repeatedly and it is in fact that he is a deeply compassionate and team focused personality type.

It was how the tweet was portrayed in a link when posted in the forums on a now deleted post. Now as for why I zeroed in on one word. That particular group that clamors for representation has recently been pretty antagonist towards those who wanted to buy and play a particular game and called the players every name they could.
Follow that up with the recent bad event that happened recently (I am only around 2 hours away from where said event occured); the perpetrator of which has many people in said groups and a noticable amount of US politicians use as a martyr in many ways. On top of all that, many media that tends to do such pandering poorly with the minority traits being the character (much to the detriment of the piece the character takes part in). I have no issues with love interests or anything of that nature tbh, but give them an inch and they take a mile is the trend. Such groups keen on representation tend to be an all or nothing sort of thing nowadays with no room for nuances, distinctions, or individualisms.
So yes, I zeroed in on one word. I wouldve done it before all that though due to his flamboyant design choices in relation to his sexuality and background (stereotyping as it were). Its not a hot take, only a measured one tempered by both experience and expectations.
I had intentions to make a return for S4 but now I don’t think it is worth it with an awful new hero and a sigma mythic (?) skin.
The devs seems so out of touch.
