"I'm not having fun, but I want to play again" - Shroud

I have to say, Shroud really did capture what Overwatch feels like.

Must be the only game where I see him losing self control.

Overwatch is truly something else.

I haven’t watched Shroud in a long time.

He started playing Overwatch? That’s news to me.

It’s because there are some really well designed heroes.
But also… some… not so well designed heroes…

Its all of the online games of the late 2010’s with a few exceptions in a nutshell. You have no fun but you play no matter what. You want to collect. To grind.

He knows why he is not having fun, it happens to everyone who dunks on people in other games and try a new one that is way more complex and the stuff you do in the previous game, doesnt work.

He knows that once he gets the game sense, experience and knowledge, he is going to be able to crush people in brutal ways, like Dafran, Kabaji, etc. He probably sees the depth and thats why he wants to keep uncovering the layers and getting to know what is happening and why.

But thats just my guess.

Wait till he finds someone to main and starts having fun only for them to be reworked and then nerfed 6 times in a row

People get salty because they are passionate about the game and because they get angry they say they have no fun.

this but 15 times, and now yet again another rework to another support i like to play that was already struggling for viability as of recently.

match quality usually isn’t great either so that also adds to the frustrations.

I only pop into his stream here or there but at the end today he was all oh wait I’ve been streaming 9 hours? Being he totally lost track of time playing Overwatch.

I think there are two big take away from Shroud playing Overwatch. The first is the game can still really hook players in and be fun to play. I think a lot of long time players seem to forget that as we whine about everything.

The other is how important game sense about Overwatch is to winning games and ranking up. Being that’s really the only thing that’s keeping him at his current SR. He might be the only true and honest newbie Overwatch player to 3k+ (hopefully he sticks with the game) sort of test we have seen in a long time. At least by any sort of known player/streamer.

being a long time GM going unranked back to GM isn’t the learning curve of Overwatch, they already know everything.

Yup. He had 28,000 viewers. While OWL had 76,000. I was impressed he had so many.

This is the ONLY GAME in FPS history where 1 bad player on your team can literally cost you the game.

I think that’s why its so frustrating.

Lol…they should put that quote on the box.

I mean, Shroud is like the 2nd or 3rd biggest individual streamer on Twitch. He can pull 20k+ regardless of what he plays.

Doesnt the dude play Rb6 and csgo? Theyre a fair bit more complex in different ways than overwatch. Specially rb6. That games got depth for days.

I haven’t played either so I can’t say yes or no. But I guess the aiming is harder in overwatch then it is is csgo or pubg. He’s just getting used to it all.

Overwatch aiming is one of the easiest among all the “big” FPS. Lots of hitscan, big hitboxes and very little, if any spread or recoil patterns you have to learn.

What throws Shroud off is that Overwatch has very little solo-carry potential, at least with the heroes he plays and how he plays them. So he can’t just take on the entire lobby by himself like he can in a game like Apex or PUBG.

Obviously with his mechanical skill, he frags every game. But fragging doesn’t win you the game if you don’t get on the point.

Plus he gets stream sniped to hell. It’s kinda ridiculous that basically every lobby is someone stream sniping him. They really need to introduce Apex’s “Streamer Mode” option.

I’m just saying what I’ve heard out of his mouth. He said he is struggling getting used to the games hitboxes and aiming feels different on overwatch the. Other games and that it’s a struggle. I was shocked he said it since so many people say overwatch is an easy game to aim. But then one of the best mechanical players says otherwise.

I bet it’s because of all the garbage CC that nobody asked for and Blizzard keeps adding to the game.

hmm I wouldnt really agree, the aiming in overwatch, imo is one of the easier aspects. Id say its the speed. Most games like csgo, pubg, rainbow, dont have movement abilities or shields to flank. Getting used to the speed and chaos would be the hardest.
