Hi Tracer main here, despite being a tracer main I haven’t played her much in the last 3 seasons or more. She’s such a fun hero to play and I don’t think she needs a buff (maybe) but I think she has become a very situational character. If you want a hero to harass the enemy backline sombra can do that job much better than Tracer. It’s just I think that the devs are making Tracer harder and harder to play with every new patch

Im sorry man, I don’t play Tracer at all but I can definitely see why people would pick Sombra over Tracer at this point.
Not really sure what would help her though
You’re probably having a hard time on Tracer because she isn’t a very good hero.

Shes quite high in risk and quite low on reward, imho bc any braindead monkey can counter her now with 1 button.
Outside she’s still amazingly fun to play.
With 1-2 dive buddys its actually really enjoyable.

If the situation to pick tracer is “we’re already winning, these 5 teammates can hold their own” then I’d agree she’s situational. Pretty much everything she does someone else does better. To me she’s basically a hero that you just throw into an already working comp to make it better. Tbh there aren’t really any normal situations where I go “man I wish we had a tracer” outside of wanting the smurf tracer onetrick to be playing tracer.
I don’t think it really makes a difference if she needs buffs or if she’s just situational because of a bad meta - I think those are both the same problem worded differently. She definitely has been getting mostly unfavorable patches since launch though.

A big reason why Tracer is so bad is because when Brig was introduced, the devs had the bright idea of making her a support.
Tracer is supposed to flank the backlines. It’s her job to assassinate enemy supports. It’s her primary job. The moment the game decided that flankers should be brutaly countered by healers, flankers became obsolete.
I don’t mind Tracer getting a hard counter, but a DPS or a tank would have been a much better design and solution than someone in the damn class that flankers are frickin’ supposed to be hunting.

Don’t play Tracer at the moment except if you have godlike tracking and gamesense. Everything counters her these days, with all the stuns flying around, you won’t live long.
I play her in comp FFA, the only place she is still fun. But if there are 4+ McCrees in the lobby, I switch off her too, otherwise you just get flashed from every direction.

Nah. I still can play her without any problems.
How would you buff her making her too op? And if they would buff her, they needed to buff plenty of other heroes too. Cause they cant buff her just like that.
Shes fine how she is imo.
she is not keeping up with the powercreep. dps need to output a minimal threshold of total damage to justify them being in the game. a tracer buff would be hated by the forums so we might just get one, lol.

She is a top tier DPS unless they have rally armour or armour pack.
Actual fact, that’s why I swapped to Soldier until Ashe got released. This is also the sole reason Tracer isn’t really viable anymore anywhere, she simply wasn’t buffed along with other DPS heroes (of which Genji and Ashe were the only ones not buffed or reworked in the game’s lifetime)
Or any CC. Or a Moira. Or half a brain.

Play Sombra, and find out it isn’t the case. Tracer gets kills, Sombra just annoys them.

make sense considering she was OP and they aren’t making any nerfs to her.
Also sombra doesn’t even have the dps of tracer
That was by design.
There wasn’t a mobility counter in support, Tracer countered all of the supports.
The question of who do you switch to if you are being monstered by Tracer didn’t have an answer in support.
Thus Brigitte.
Everyone other hero you could switch to counter.
But supports couldn’t switch off support or to a counter.
There is no universal tank counter (Mei is close, but Zarya counters her), and D’va counters Sombra.
There is no universal Dps counter. Though widow is complained about a lot.

If CC or Moira is keeping you from doing work on Tracer, then you are not a very good Tracer. At all. Like, that’s REALLY bad.

You aren’t supposed to. It’s by design to make flankers the natural counters of supports.
Supports shouldn’t be “free kills”, they should be fighting on a disadvantage (Ana and Zen) or escaping (Mercy). But they shouldn’t be hard counters either.
Again, should have made a design for a flanker counter as a tank or DPS, and gave him peeling capabilities. Outright making a support as that counter makes flankers just obsolete.

Nah dude I heard Tracer broken. Did you know she can one clip? And has getoutofjailfree card. Also Brig doesn’t actually counter her just dodge the stun if you aren’t bad 4head
^The forums 6 months and 4 Brig nerfs ago. What a train wreck. Tracer is just sub optimal. Was at all tiers outside GM before Brig. Never more so than now.

she wasnt op. she was the exact same as genji is now, pretty balanced, he escaped the hate for some reason. hope the devs buff tracer to stand against the prejudice might be lgbt related.
I could never tell if those posts were just trolls or made by salty people who get rolled by smurfs and use that as a baseline for how good that hero is.
“Yeah well that GM smurfing on tracer in gold was dodging all of my stuns, and he kept deleting me with pulse, so obviously tracer works!”
