I'm having a field day at the backline today

A lot of support players I play against today don’t seem to be able to touch me. My theory is that many of them rely on Moira too much to deal with Genji. Some made a desperation switch to Brigitte but Brigitte now is more of a Tracer neutralizer than a Genji counter, besides, with Rectangle Man also out of rotation, Brigitte is quite vulnerable.

So I’ve been walking knee deep in the blood of enemy supports today. A particular interesting game was me spawn camping a guy and killed him 3 times in a row (he never made it to his team). He got angry, said very nasty things about Blizzard banning Moira and ragequit mid game (didn’t come back) . I reported him of course, with a smirk on my face. Feel like I made him quit the game for the week though, because upon checking his profile, this guy was basically a Moira one-trick.

I think hero pool is good. You remove some of the crutches people have with certain heroes in their role, and they are lost. They are forced to adapt and get better on other heroes. This make them overall a better player.

One thing I found interesting is that Blizzard banned two supports. I’m not against it but why Moira and Ana? I think next week should be Brigitte and Moira. Bring skill back to the support line up, even if only for a week.

Idk what to get out of this thread… i think they took out moira and ana to see how the two other main healers (who are less powerfull in terms of healing than moira and ana) will go about doing their job. It’s fun… i have to see how it’ll be in a match setting

Get this nonsense out of here. If even solid DPS heroes like Soldier 76 and Mccree have trouble dealing with Genji (and yes, this is a fact AT ALL RANKS) how on earth do you expect heroes like Mercy, Zen, or Lucio to kill him?

but we all gonna ignore the fact that genji got like 5 different passives to “rely on” while some heroes don’t even have a single one

I like flankers as a support, it can get boring back there, its nice to have a visitor every now and then :slight_smile:

Yeah. Because someone being unable to leave spawn and play the game if their team won’t help them sounds like a healthy and fair matchup that didn’t lead to the creation of Moira at all…

Also Genji is designed to counter the other supports. Consistently beating you in a duel on Genji with say Mercy is not that much of a different hurdle as Genji beating Moira. In both instances, the matchup is not fair by design. So bragging and feeling smug about winning a duel that is not a fair fight is a bit silly.

Or are you the typical genji main that thinks healing comes from a magical fairy when you press the “I need healing.” button?

I notice you didn’t post about being busy peeling for your supports.

If all you’re doing is trading backlines then you’re doing nothing to contribute to a win. You’d be better off playing a McCree at that point.

If he’s got the other healer locked down in spawn, then both teams are fighting 5v5. But the side without the healer is probably fairing worse because heals are more important than damage as far as resources go.

This exact behavior though is precisely why Moira was created

It turns out that flankers are generally strong against supports in a 1v1, unless the supports are very good and the flanker doesn’t wait for CDs to be popped before attacking.

So yeah, take the opportunity to enjoy the incompetence of the enemy team’s peel. I don’t think you’re going to get another chance for a while.

? mccree doesn’t have trouble dealing with genji? mccree vs genji is way in mccrees favor atm. soldier wins with cooldowns and can always disengage from unfavorable fights.

McCree has always been a strong pick against Genji even before fire rate buff and deflect hitbox nerf.

With faster fire rate his poke is much stronger and with deflect hitbox nerf you have to be a Moira one-trick to still get flash deflected.

Soldier also got stronger because of helix. Genji is actually outclassed by many dps heroes.

The only unfair fight is vs Mercy. And If support players support each other, it’s actually very difficult to kill either of them as long as they keep healing each other.

Flankers are not peelers. Peeler-dps are those who play alongside the backline. McCree, Ashe, Junkrat, etc. Asking a Genji to peel the backline is like asking McCree to flank to enemy backline.

But I don’t think you give enough credit as far as skill goes to supports. Particularly Brig. Will be interesting to see if you come across some that aren’t so dependent on Rein and give you more of a challenge.

Completely untrue. Mercy, Zen, Lucio, Ana, and Brigitte do not have the tools to consistently duel a Genji. They are unfair fights in Genji’s favor. Baptiste is neutral. Moira is the only matchup with the tables reversed.
