Most games people flame me for picking Brigitte. It’s so bad that I’ve stopped joining the voice chat. Please stop overnerfing heroes and leaving them in a terrible spot. I’d like to play my favourite hero just once without being flamed.

At least Hog’s now one of the best tanks, and probably will be for a while. Even when she was “meta”, Brigitte was considered a bad pick for everyone below Masters. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to pick Brig without tilting my team off the face of the earth.

I don’t condone this behavior, it happens to me a lot, but can you blame them?
The dev team keeps nerfing Brig patch after patch without giving any adjustments back, even little ones. The community reflects that attitude by being hateful.
She factually shares the worst support spot with Baptiste, and they are the worst by a lot. Support already has a narrow roster as it is.
And is also the same dev team that has permitted this behavior all these years (talking about other characters that suffer the same treatment from this “community”).

The developers are purposefully trying to destroy the characters at this they deserve the hate. D.va used to proactively create oppurtunities for team by diving backliners like genji and tracer do.
Now she needs to wait for an oppurtunity to dive and spends most of her time trying to snipe people with shotguns cuz its too dangerous to proactively dive.
The developers deserve the hatred at this point because their actions make this game a scam.

Dva is strong right now though. Shes been in many of my games lately and can be a nightmare to play into and a godsend to have on your team (dva peel is clutch)

That’s because DVA had 400 armour and 4 seconds of dm, just because the hero isn’t unbelievable broken anymore doesn’t mean the Devs hate her lol

To be fair if you play Widow in any rank under diamond you get much the same hate till you can show that you can actually hit your shots. Basically God help you if you pick Widow in gold then miss your first shot. Then the rest of the match will be, Switch off Widow!, Report Widow for throwing!, extra, extra. Yet she is probably the best DPS in the game when played well.

I don’t blame them 100%.
But they are not without fault.
For example: until now we have an improved profanity filter? 4 years later? I think that was one of the first things they should have worked on.
And is not like they are new to this, they already know how toxic people can be from their other games.

I think they hired someone recently to do qol changes, I don’t think they had anyone doing it before, for example patch notes in game was just added. Also not really relevant to this topic but still

Unfortunately brig is only viable in total mayhem, maybe elimination modes.
It sucks that you’re being harassed.
Stop playing Brig. Brig is one of the supports I specialise in but I haven’t touched her since the 200hp nerf and neither should you. Stop inflating her pickrates based on nothing but your desire to play her when she is ineffective and a detriment to the team.

Good, now we have a real life example of toxic behavior disguised as constructive feedback.
See, she/he was playing Brig before the HP nerf, she got nerfed and became toxic against Brig players.
In what? Maybe in the lapse of weeks she/he became like this?
And this is from someone who used to play her, can you imagine how it is out there with people that by default hate her BEFORE the nerfs?

I mean, while I certainly don’t harass anyone over it and I sympathize, seeing people force the Brig is terribly frustrating right now.
I’m not exaggerating when I say I haven’t won a single game with her on my team post gutting. She’s possibly in the worst state of any hero I’ve ever seen and definitely the worst a Support has ever been.

any character can be good until you hit high GM, skill on that hero matters way more than what the meta is before then

Exactly, having to switch is part of the game and I do it no questions asked if I see there is a clear counter to Brig.
If I see Phara and we don’t have hitscan to deal with her, I’m out of Brig instantly just to name a vague example.
The problem is that Brig doesn’t have a place anywhere right now. You need the exact correct comp, the correct map, and playing against a specific enemy comp, to be able to get some value out of her.
That’s beyond Niche in my opinion.
I’m not a one trick, I can play tanks, dps and other supports. But Brig is the one I enjoy the most and is basically the reason I still play OW.
So what about those that like to play her or continue to play OW because we like to play certain characters? Should we just stop playing OW? I mean eventually we will since there is only so much harassment someone can take.
