Hi,
I hope this is the right section. Lately i’m playing a lot of Wrecking Ball and having a blast using his kit. My win rate is about 55% and i think i’m doing a pretty good job climbing the ranks slowly but surely. I’ve found out that in the games where we win there are no problems whatsoever, but when we lose people start blaming my tank pick and i find mydelf reported most of the times. Since i got suspended already for the ammount of reports i got for playing my favourite hero i’d like to know if there is a verification step before an account gets sospended, since i don’t think it’s fair to get banned for playing the game. Thanks
I personally don’t like Ball in my team (I realize we lose more frequently and it makes sense), but I have never reported anyone for playing a hero.
Unfortunately it does happen and suspensions happen when there are enough reports, no verification from Blizzard is needed.
I’d argue that verification would be nice to have. I don’t like dealing with hammond, either, but that’s not a reason to report.
It’s really sad that people will report you for playing a hero they don’t like. That isn’t what this game is supposed to be all about.
The tank role right now is arguably the most fun it’s ever been, but I’ve turned off comms because I refuse to deal with everyone trying to pick my hero for me. That part is stressful.
I doubt all of the reports were for solely playing Ball. Some probably were since there are situations (mostly based on the enemy’s team comp) where he is at least a soft throw pick and people take things too serious at times. You should reexamine how you respond to swap requests or chat in general because that is probably where most of the reports are coming from.
It is safe to assume that most reports are because he/she is playing a hero that the the team doesnt want him/her to play and i am getting sick of this the game is meant to be fun not a job, if the are trying to win no matter who they are on then there is no soft or hard throwing, they need to stop trying to dictate what other play and just worrybabout their own choices and learn to have fun
I’d report you too. Don’t wanna waste my time with a Hamster as my tank while it’s open season for our frontline and backline.
Yeah ok we all know only you are allowed to have fun everyone else be damned
one tricking a hero is not a reportable offense, just like how you can’t report a bad teammate.
No, it is not safe to assume that even most of the reports are from merely playing Ball in situations that are bad for the hero. There are three reasons for this. First, we know absolutely nothing about the OP’s behavior in games either in terms of his play or how he interacts with his team in chat. Second, most people rarely paint narratives that give them any blame for a situation. There are at a minimum 4 other points of view in each of the OP’s games; we should assume that there is far more to the story than what is being told to us by the OP. Finally, people are lazy and will just avoid the OP before reporting them unless the OP does something egregious to them.
Take all of that together and we should not take the OP at face value.
You get reported in games you win also. People punish players for playing the nerfed tanks that are underpowered at the moment. Ball, Doomfish, and Junker Queen are in bad slots. Can you win with them? Sure! Is it like winning with one hand tied behind your back? Yes. The accepted way to counter the ball is to ignore him and kill your team. Fact
Suspensions are automatic. The only safeguard against false reports currently is once someone makes too many reports they get suspended themselves.
Bans are manual but inconsistent.
I take my point of veiw of games i have been in where i have had to step in and get teammatesof the backs of other teammates, OW is a simple videogame winning losing even in comp means nothing the the outcone of life, so people need to calm down and just have fun, yes of course try and win but if a petson hero choice is not optimal but the are having fun and trying then leave them alone
Did you actually tank in those games or just roll around the map while the team is dying. Because if its the latter, I report for gameplay sabotage.
Reportable offense means nothing when their report system is just, “Ok x number of reports came in ban this guy”.
