I’m sick of this, I had one connection loss last night and had to wait 8 hours for the suspension if over, so I gone to sleep and woke up to try and finish my death match placements, got another damn loss connection but came back to join in time to click the rematch button, we lost of course but now I have a 20 hour suspension even though I made it back. This game’s suspension rules are stupid, I’m done with this game.

Well the good news is once you d/c again you are season banned so no one else has to deal with your bad internets
Well that sucks. It happened to me, but put yourself in blizz’ s position.
It is very hard to know who gets disconnected and who turned off the router:
I had that problem and I just bought a better and cheaper connection.
1st ban is 10 min
Then 30
Then 1 / 2 hours
Then 8 hours.
Maybe stop playing until you fix your internet after the 8 hrs?
After 24 hours comes a week, and then permaban. You need to play an undisclosed number of games to lower the penalty (until it resets). I never got higher than 8 hrs, and after 20 games you are definitely at the base penalty.
I don’t know if quickplay games count to reduce the ban time, but they DO break your “non DC streak” if you leave.
I think arcade does nothing.
I would play 20 quickplays to completion (just don’t exit before the screen where it shows the winning team, be extra sure). Or maybe just 10?
Then try ranked again, and don’t leave in 10+ games, preferably 20.
By the way the devs confirmed that the matchmaking will NOT start for you (even if you see the searching notification) until your game ends. So if you can wait until the game sends you to the menu you won’t take any longer to start another game than of you exit as the victory / defeat message appears.
The only exception is in games when some leaves and the 2 minutes pass. There you can exit safely. This also works when there’s a leaver on the other team.
The exit messages are different if the 2 minutes have passed. Always pay attention to the message when you press ESC, don’t mind the red counter on chat.
If it tells you exit yes/no like quickplay it’s safe. If it tells you about penalties it’s not.
Leaving games this way will result in a flat 25 Sr reduction, and you can queue immediately after. Do not leave them even if this happened, it may invalidate your game streak.

So, in that 8 hours, you went to sleep instead of investigating the disconnect issue (e.g. contacting your ISP) before trying comp again?
