I'm done. There's no point to ranked with this match making

no matter how well you do, no matter how much you try to be a team player, you just constantly get bad team mates who refuse to do anything about mercy pockets, or take high ground with their tank and healers, or… like, I’m at the point where I physically can’t progress. And if I try to go DPS, it’s the same situation, just in a different role. I give up. My faith in humanity is gone.

I’ve talked to my friends, tried getting coaching, and I’m always told the same thing: “It’s not a you issue”

I’m done with being told to kms, I’m done with begging the dps to do something, done trying to go dps or heals to deal with deficiencies that just appear else but in the other roles, I’m done with not being able to progress no matter how many hundreds of hours I put into the game.

If there’s nothing more I can do to improve to climb out of this cesspit because of this matchmaking, then there’s nothing more I can do. Fare thee well.

Im currently in a terrible losing streak and im questioning my will to live…genuinely uncarryable teams that push to the enemy spawn doors and dont listen to “fallback”.

This game is not healthy for ones mental.
Feels great to get even games and depressing playing unbalanced trash.

My mmr (currently as a plat) was matching me with t500 players and i could hold my own ok.
Lose a game or two and you get silver players in your team that you need to teach the game to…

How is this even a thing.

So im probably going to take another break.

Never give this company your money.
They dont deserve you logging in.

if the whole team is somewhere, and you are the one that isn’t, you should be with them. period.

In a game that cancels you out super hard just because you’ve won a game or two…

Don’t even try.

Blizzard has beaten down it’s own dedicated gamers with a system so oppressive that it’s not even worth playing.

Indeed. But what if its just the pharah that extends past the choke with no LoS for healing and dies?

Or the rein? What about that?

I say teams because im speaking generally describing multiple games and not an isolated incident where 4 members push to the spawn door.

thats them if its only them and it also depends on if they are trying to clean up the remaining enemies.

Thats free ult charge getting away.

If it’s rien taking 2 too many steps around a corner, that is them, unless you can reasonably determine everyone is pressing W, then it should be expected.

I agree. This game is bad for your mental health. There is something really wrong with the match making and it is trying to gaslight the community otherwise. I had a streak of wins and suddenly there are bronze 3 and lower queued in with me… I have been trying to climb out of Silver 2 forever and every time I get a winning streak i suddenly get people who do not understand the mechanics of the game in my queue.

You can’t progress. It’s apparently “not a you issue”. You have the same problem on other roles… I’m not saying this to be a douche bag, but from just these three things it just seems like you’re at the skill level you belong in (obviously that’s all I have to go off of). Don’t give up! Fight through the terrible matchmaker and stop sending the blame to your teammates. All you have to do is make a difference in the majority of your games. Win more games than you lose, you’ll climb eventually!

That being said, if it’s causing you this much frustration and anger, maybe it’s time to take a break from Overwatch for your own sanity XD

Or you could do literally anything more productive such as read a book, go to the gym, or do anything else rather than waste your time with a glorified slot machine

Yeah don’t be that guy hanging out on point saying fallback waiting for the battle to come to them. I learned this the hard way too. Keep the stagger alive, poke out their cooldowns as much as possible (without dying hopefully) then they won’t speed in with 5 man, 100% cooldowns and dumpster your team or at least have a 50% chance to do so.

I’m sorry, but when they put a match together with diamonds vs. golds… no one should play it.

Just sit there. Demand better.

If only 10% more players realized this, my life would be 90% better.

If gameplay is music, and the half of the team are at 160 bpm, and the rest are at 90 bpm, then music that does not make.

I do these things as well, plus enjoy playing Overwatch

I took a break for a couple days because I was tired of losing most of my games. Went back into it with an idc attitude and went back to 50/50 wins/losses.

A lot of people here don’t want to hear this (because they’re addicts in denial) but it’s totally true. The issues will only get worse with online games as companies continue to attempt to exploit players’ psychology to the maximum degree possible in the name of increased “engagement” and profits. They want you to spend all of your free time on their platforms that feel less and less rewarding and more manipulative with every iteration to anyone with half a brain.

Quitting gaming in general is probably the best decision for most peoples’ lives. The fact that it’s so “hard” should be setting off alarm bells because that’s the indicator of addiction.

that 2% ult from a bit of poke could very easily be the difference between having ult on time, or having after it’s to late, if at all.

The amount of times i have been just short of the good timing, or seem my team mates get just as the die… + what you both say.

even just a few of you thinking the same keeps my hope alive <3

The matchmaking is somewhat broken, there are many inflated players who are many ranks above their skill level. An example a player who has been silver for years doesn’t suddenly become a Plat player overnight without improving. Or in my case I am seeing Plats suddenly in my GM lobbies going 6 elims to 20 Deaths.

What you have to do is remind yourself that this is blizzards problem not yours. It is still possible to climb… IF you can tolerate losing some games that were due to these inflated players… if you can do this without having it tilt you, you’ll climb to your actual rank. Eventually.

It’s no surprise that people are using cheat programs to try and even the playing field, given the poorly designed MMR system that has been implemented. It is undoubtedly one of the worst systems ever created for a game.
To overcome perceived barriers in the matchmaking system: If players feel that the matchmaking system is unfairly matching them against opponents who are better skilled or more experienced, they may consider using aim bots as a way to level the playing field.

While I do not condone the use of cheat programs, I can understand why some players may be tempted to use them. If the developers do not take steps to address issues with the game and ensure that players are matched fairly, it will only end in people not give a Duck. And the majority of us will suffer having a game full of bots running around.
