That the matchmaker will give you subsequent games with absolute donkeys
Nope you just climbed SR and face harsher opponents.
Honestly the matchmaking for masters/GM is so much all over the place that I can’t agree with OP anymore, I used to but since one game is full of diamonds and the next is full of GMs it’s kind of a mess.
No im on an alt strictly talking about quick play classic. Still on a 22 game winning streak but my teams are garbage.
The other teams have been pretty challenging but still easy to exploit.
I see the enemy making good plays while my team runs around like its cod.
It is called the potato factor measured from 0-5.
If you win a game your potato factor goes up by 1.
The next game you get 1 potato on your team.
and so on.
Lmao so seemingly true
There’s match maker in QPC?
lol
Yea…when a match is made it pulls from players in a queue and I am getting absolute potatoes its great
How does matchmaker know who the donkeys, monkeys & potato are?.
Lol so if you flipped a quarter 10 times and got heads every time would you be surprised if some tails came up?
Happens at all leagues. I was normally smack dab in the middle of Platinum. Sometimes I would get games with all Golds on my team. Another I’d get a mix of Plats and Diamonds.
this isn’t league of legends bro. that game actually factually does that.
Well, I wasn’t on a winstreak and I’ve just 150sr because of this horrible matchmaking and trolls, hog OTP, ball OTP, ana OTP, dps not doing anything, etc. I’m just watching my SR drop and it’s not super fun.
Recent games lost mmr etc
This statement is totaly true. I have 2 accounts and they are exactly the same. 5 win streak means 7 lose streak with absolutes trolls yhrowers leavers and the worst smuefs on enemy team. Wining 5 times means gettin rolled the next 2 hours
From my own observations this is absolutely true. I have multiple accounts, with an alt account 1000 SR lower than the main, and I experience the exact same pattern when playing. As soon I do well in a few games, I get teamed up with one or more absolute donkeys that will ensure a loss, or against a smurf that will carry the enemy team.

A bit of background before I go on with my tale:
I have historically been in high-Plat with a few stays in Diamond, although I suffer a bit atm. insisting on being a Tracer one-trick (I played alot of Support (Ana mainly) before 2-2-2 and even a good amount of Tank, but those roles are insufferable now, so I play DPS-only).

I once played in 3v3 Elimination Competitive when it was up in Arcade. At one point in low Plat, I got teamed up with an obvious smurf, and we stomped the other team. The guy told me and the third guy that we were the first good players he had gotten on his team, and that he was completely unable to climb. I looked at his profile, and lo and behold, this guy is a 4100 GM DPS in regular Competitive! Our third guy is a low-plat tank and gold support/DPS.
He asks us to group up, and we accept. The next two games go alright, and we stomp the opposition into oblivion. Like, completely stomp them. Then we have a game that is significantly harder, but we win barely. We notice that one of the opponents is really good and looking him up, he turns out to be a Master in regular Competitive.
That is our last victory.
The MatchMaker goes completely bananas after that. We are again and again teamed up against multiple Masters, sometimes even sprinkled with a GM. It is a common pattern, that there will be at least two very good players on the opposing team. As we are still around mid-plat, this is beyond statistical anomalies: There is no doubt that the MatchMaker is seeking out players that can equal out our GM player, essentially keeping him stuck in Plat.
After around three back-to-back losses against one insane team after another, we are finally forced to split up again.
In the second we split up (meaning our GM left), the MatchMaker becomes normal. Gone are all the Masters and GMs that we got before, and we get “normal” players that are high-gold or plat. We play quite a few games after that, and my team mate actually reached Diamond in 3v3 Elimination, a level he had never been at in regular Competitive.
Never again did I meet an enemy smurf.
So when we had a GM player on our team, we had four games back-to-back against high level players, where one game was against 2x Masters and another against 1x Masters and 1x GM and the two last had at least one very good player.
After our GM leaves, I never see that level of players again.

The MatchMaker is ridicilous. It will work actively to equal out your skill, and it will actually keep you stuck at the level you are, unless you are able to defeat increasingly bad odds again and again.
Why couldn’t the MatchMaker instead be completely random? It would give the team the smurf ends up in an advantage, and the smurf will naturally climb out - fast. Instead it will find another smurf (or even multiple!) for the other team to “make an equal match” - or if no smurfs are found, it will donkey out his team.
People are complaining about smurfs, and I can understand why, if the smurfs are forced to stay around much longer than they should, due to the MatchMaker equalling them out.
It is as if there is a “smurf ranked” in the lower ranks, where the smurfs will have to beat each other to climb out.
You nailed it. Anyone that cant see this is a flat earther type imo
If you go to qpc youll quickly learn whether youre a carry or a carrier
The experience I described was a shock to me. I could see from the outside, observing this GM player’s situation, what would also be my own situation. Certainly with less extremes, as it would only take maybe a low diamond to equal me out in a plat-game, as opposed to the GM that needed 2 Masters. But none-the-less the situation is the exact same, just on another scale.
That was the day that I stopped taking Overwatch seriously at all, and I have been a quite serious competitive player.
Over the last 2 months, I have had two play-sessions, being quickly discouraged from playing Competitive, knowing this unfair system is in place. Why bang your head against a wall over and over?
This means that I have essentially stopped playing. I feel so fed up with this game, both because of how frustrating it has become (due to poor balance, too much CC etc.), but also because of how unjust the competitive system is.
That day in 3v3 Elimination Competitive really burst all illusions I had.
Made a thread here
Got the tinfoil hat call out really early so decided not to fight.
I legit hate smurfs and boosters. they are so obnoxious and you see them alot when you go up.
