are they lovers or is this another common misconception? because in the voice panel they somewhat said the two were ex lovers and now chu said they never had a relationship. i dont get it
They want to try and avoid throwing bones to rule 34 artists. Too late though.
it’s something like: i hate you, but i love you, but i hate you…
i think when they say partners they mean more like partners in crime not life partners, I personally dont see them as exes with beef, that would be too boring imo
Chu said they were never in a romantic relationship on Twitter, so that is what I believe is true.
However, there’s very obviously miscommunication between him and the rest of the developers and cast because some of the voice actors have referred to them as “ex-lovers”.
It’s pretty clear that Ashe has bottled up feelings for McCree that even her butler recognizes, combined with her keeping the old photos of their time together it seems pretty obvious. It just seems that it never actually turned into anything and she just kept it to herself. Maybe McCree knew all along (heck, it was obvious to B.O.B.) but never said anything either. So while there’s always been a romantic subtext it never manifested into an actual relationship.
I think I’ve heard that song somewhere before … like 28 times through history…
Uh I am fairly sure that McCree was the original cowboy. Ashe gained a crush but was too tsundere to admit it. So instead of saying to his face at any point “Would you like to go out with me?” she acts all hyper aggressive to him while changing how she dresses and acts in homage to him.
The Ashe origins cinema shows that she started as a rich but lonely kid who started acting out for attention. Which in turn eventually led to a life of banditry.
Now, obviously McCree kept enough touch with her whereabouts to know how to do the tip about the weapon shipment. But its obvious he is willing to use her to get his real partner out of cold storage.
So at the very least I would say the relationship is not healthy for Ashe… or McCree for that matter.
