She is a close/mid range healer… However, she does long range damage… They probably should have made her damage high at close/mid range.
Not sure why they made her a long range dmg

It’s not that unusual for supports to have better damage range than healing. Moira’s noodle is something like 20m while her spray is something like 15m. Bap can technically lob grenades a long way but distance really screws with the reliability and if you’re counting on getting directs, I wouldn’t sit at 25m. It’s only really Brig who has an attack range much lower than her healing reach.
I already think that Bap’s better than Illari, but reducing her fall-off to 15m would seal the deal.
I know, not sure why they nerfed Illari when Bapt is better in almost every way.
And baps mediocre in practice non existant in metal ranks.
So besides Ana who is not mediocre in practice and played in metal ranks?
Her range isn’t that long tbh. She has no spread, but her falloff is pretty steep.
In most cases, shouldn’t your teammates (your target for healz) be closer to you than your enemies (your target for keelz)?
Guess that makes sense now that I think about it. Healer for a poke comp.
Yep.
Distance and aerial targets can have an impact, going further than 30 meters increases the travel time and reliability of the RMB fire landing and effectively healing an ally. Not to mention, bunny-hopping.
Brigitte’s Repairpacks have some incredible distance attached to them, and can be comparatively more reliable than Baptiste’s own.
Illari can heal two targets at roughly the same time, as well as disrupt other targets with a displacement. While Baptiste can cover his team with Regen Burst, and Alternative fire, he doesn’t really have any other sources of damage beyond his primary. Likewise, Illari doesn’t have any other sources of damage, either. But she does have Captive Sun. Additionally, Healing Pylon never needs to reload nor can it miss its shots.
Ideally, but based on skill rankings, you can have some really bad formations that don’t always work too well.
