I actually have two ideas, one edited and one complete rework.
First: I’d say remove rez completely. Maybe boost the speed of guardian angel and replace E with guardian angel prefers beam target on while shift is to have it off. While we’re at it, Mercy is the most consistent healer, so maybe reduce the healing the same way to how they’re planning to nerf it now. The speed boost of her guardian angel makes her the most mobile and consistent healer there is, either that or since we’re removing rez completely, maybe give a more forgiving distance to where Mercy can guardian angel?
Second (edit to where she is now): Like the Storm bow falloff, maybe her E ability damage boosts and heals an ally at the same time for 3-4 seconds but the damage is much more amplified with the cost of severe healing reduction. Also she cannot break the chain of whom she’s currently healing or the ability finishes early. During Valkrie, E is disabled because she can both heal and give damage boost (normal cost for both), and yes, still no rez.
No, buffing Mercys mobility even more would be a really bad idea. A good Mercy is already really hard to kill, let’s not push that even further.
Valkyre is the problem because Mercys weakness was always that she could only heal 1 person at a time.
my rework:
Valkyre: Chain healing removed, primary fire healing increased to 90hp/s (might need tweaking) during the duration of Valkyre. grants 2 charges of blessing (optional)

Resurrect: Is removed and replaced with blessing
Blessing: Mercy grants a teammate a blessing that revives them instantly if they die within the next 3 seconds. On 20s CD
Change he healing staff thingy method… make it have it’s own ability with limited amount of healing that needs to recharge “cool down” to heal again…
For example she can heal for 60 hp/s for a limited amount of time but she has a new ability that makes her staff go even higher on healing maybe 80/s idk just tossing numbers but there’s a catch when you go into that mode you overheat your staff faster draining the energy in it thus have to recharge faster.
It would open more decision making on when to heal and which target to use that mode on and also has it’s own draw back with a recharge on healing.
Probs would make Mercy more enjoyable to play tbh.
Ohh she can also have a voice line when the staff over heats like her hands burn or something so enemy team would have an idea on when her healing is at it’s limits.
Instead of being on a cooldown, Mercy can target her healing beam into the soul to rez (like in MvM).
There are no limits to how many times you can be rez, but the more frequently you got rez, the longer the channeling time will be.
Valkyrie:
Increase the healing/DmBoosting radius.
Drasctically reduce the rez channeling time.
Can be linked to souls.
Now Res can be earned and Valk has a much better imapct than Mass rez. Literally no one will die.
But these changes will never be as good as that sweet exploitable SR Mass rez ult. Even with LoS checking through walls, Hide and Res Mercy plays by hide in a corner then jump out and res.
Now I am must board my windows and walls with barb wires, heavy duty wood and sound proof glass, cause the angry mod outside my door this time wants my head on pike for ****talking their goddess.
Add a light LoS check (Rezzing around a payload or a thin object is okay, but she shouldn’t be able to Rez through solid walls)
Invulnerability is only triggered for large rezzes (4x or 5x)
Keep bunny hopping
New ability -Chain Heal. Basically weaker version of Valkyrie without the flight. For a brief time, Mercy’s beams jump to 2 other targets. Non-primary targets only receive 50% of the effect.
Mercy 1.0 was considered a troll pick even with mass rez, until invulnerability was added. It would be easier to balance a revert than to keep Valk as her ultimate.
Revert - Mercy’s ultimate is back to Mass Resurrect
Charge requirement increase for rez
Remove invulnerability, replace with a 50% damage reduction
Add LOS check for rez
E ability - Extend GA range OR free flight (like Valk) for a brief time (like 5 seconds) on a very long cooldown, maybe 20 seconds (tweak as needed)
Add a short cast time (like 1 second) and keep the resurrect delay the same (iirc it was 2.25 seconds once Mass Rez was used for teammates to be back in the fight)
This would address most of the issues, as the main complaints of Mercy 1.0 were as follows:
Mercy could ult from hiding - LOS check makes this impossible, so Mercy wouldn’t be able to ult from spawn or behind walls.
Mercy’s ult charged too quickly - fixed by increasing the charge requirement. The best Mercy’s could charge their ult in about 33(?) seconds before, her charge rate should be slower for such a powerful ult.
When she was a troll pick, people complained that she didn’t have a utility or quick escape option if her team was too far away - GA Extension or a brief valk ability could fix that IF it was an ability that could not be used constantly
Mercy’s mass rez “didn’t have counterplay” - removing invulnerability and replacing it with a DR and a short cast time means that Mercy could be killed mid-rez if she’s focused, but also won’t instantly die from a tickle like she did in her troll pick days.
The E ability would probably be the hardest thing to find a sweet spot for, as they’d need to be sure it added utility without making Mercy too mobile to where she’s impossible to kill.
Alternatively, they could put mass rez on a resource meter, but they’ve already said they won’t do that…
So, basically, her ult is actually not very useful, i just gave an idea on how to improve it and make it more valuable.
Now, Mercy isn’t OP anymore since her last nerf.
Perhaps to make Valkyrie more valuable, she need her base kit nerfed again ?
Well okay, so her base kit (while in regular form, not Valkyrie) make GA cooldown at 2.5 seconds, then reduce damage boost at 20% and GA speed to 15 m/s then.
If you want more, i can even add this : resurrection will only be available without cast time ONCE per Valkyrie ultimate, and rez is deactivated in regular form.
Mercy sprouts ACTUAL wings, morphing into her Angel form. She then flies up to the skybox and calls down a meteor, dealing 9999 damage to the map and extending the enemy teams respawn timer to 60 seconds.
Ok my ideas :
1.Ressurect: Removed and Given a new ability.
“Heaven’s Blessing” - Mercy blesses one of her teammates for 5 seconds. In this time period the blessed teammate gains 15% movement speed and 20hp/s healing. Cooldown:15 seconds
“Miracle worker” - Mercy select’s a teammate and gives them CC immunity for 3 seconds. Cooldown: 10 seconds
2.Remove Valkyrie - Valkyrie becomes an E-ability and a Mass Rez is returning as an ultimate,but…
Valkyrie - Now an E-ability. Mercy gains free flight for 5 seconds and increased single target healing (70hp/s). Cooldown: 20 seconds
New Ultimate: Ressurect - Upon activation Mercy gets 5 charges of ressurect and a free flight but she has to respond fast.(When Ressurect is activated Mercy has 2 seconds to fly to a teammates soul and ressurect him. If the ressurect is successful the 2 seconds time period resets and she has time to fly to her other teammates soul and ressurect him. Once the time 2 seconds are over- She looses her charges and Ressurect has ended. Also she can’t heal or damage boost during Ressurect.)
IDK, I just wanted to see a combination of Valkyrie and Ressurect. That way Mass Rez will require LoS and maybe a small cast time (Like 1 second).
Honestly , I’ll be fine with Ressurect going to an earnable ability.
Keep in mind these are just things I’ve been thinking about.
Mine is somewhat simple, but would work just fine:
Keep Rez on E, but with 2 conditions;
1)Can only be used during Valk, but has either no cast time, or a reduced cast time.
2)Has to be earned with healing done (and maybe damage boost), but can stack say up to 2 or 3 charges, each with increased “healing cost”, and until Valk ends that cost will NOT go down.
Then for Self Healing:
Increase the time needed for it to start from 1 to either 2 or 2,5 seconds.
Double tapping GA when the target is within 15m range launches Mercy 10m up in the air
Mercy’s health regeneration delay when hit in Valkyrie is now increased to 0.2s
Mercy’s healing in Valkyrie is increased to 60HPS
Mercy’s damage boost effects heroes and abilities just like it has effected them for 2 years and if this is deemed overtuned then it’ll be reverted and called a nerf just like it should’ve been called
