do you also report the pocket Mercy?
I’m seeing more suspicious kill cams lately, though admittedly, I’ve only seen one ximmer today. And it was a hard-pocketed Widow/Ashe, to no one’s surprise.
Many of them are definitely duos, and that relationship is not a one-way-street; the Mercy also gains something.
I’ve thought about it and at first I’d say no, because she’s not the one cheating. And she isn’t watching the kill cams, just a DPS that’s better than average.
But if she’s hard-pocketing a cheater, then she encourages and consents to the cheating. Then I saw that you can also report for boosting/deranking and now, we find ourselves at the crossroads. A smurf duo is not just about stomping noobs for fun, but to also boost whoever the smurf holds dear.
The Cheater’s Pocket: Another Victim or Partner in Crime?
As a support main, who got yelled at and threatened by report in QP for “pocketing cheater” - I have no idea how to know, that my dps is cheating - specialy, when my boost is not really high on that person -_-
Also, I tend to pocket dps, who is just better performing, than the other. This is not fair.

Not normally. Not unless it’s SUPER blatant. Spinbotters, widows who will regularly end team fights with 3-4 kills as headshots and no misses, or otherwise cases of ‘there’s no way you don’t know they’re cheating.’

If the player is grouped with the cheater, they automatically get punished if the cheater gets banned.
Additionally, it is often difficult to tell when a teammate is cheating, because you never see their own perspective (e.g. from kill cams). In many cases it is impossible to differentiate cheating from someone doing really well, and its in the best interest of the support to prioritize teammates having the most impact.
Not likely. Unless they were grouped up and obviously assisting the cheater. Otherwise, most people don’t know when someone is cheating.
You can’t really tell the difference between someone being boosted and someone recognizing a good player and trying to support them. It’s best to err in the side of caution and just report the cheater, if they’re grouped they’ll get banned anyways.
If the support is in a group with the cheater often enough, they will also get actioned.
