If you main tank, you can climb

The tank mains im overwatch has dropped dramaticly in season 10. I myself have thought that playing tank would be frusturating due to the bad place that blizzard had done to them. Without tank mains in overwatch, competitive in season 10 will die. I have played alot of bastion in season 9, so orisa was a really good pick since i track while immobile, and orisa is almost the same. Ever since ive became a tank main by using tanks that are similar to the charactars i play i ranked back up to platnuim. And im still climbing since the tge enemy team is likley going to fill in as tank and have 0 idea on what they are doing. If your the tank main and the enemy had no tank mains, you will have great sense with tanks while the enemy is clueless on what to do. I hope i can encourage tanks to face there counters like i did with bastion.

The line between good tanks and bad tanks has really gotten sharper. A bad tank will stand in front of the whole team and wonder why they get stunned and deleted.

Yes, you can still climb as a tank player, but it’s going to be a frustrating climb since you’re so dependent on your team. Especially as Reinhardt for example.

which is why i dont play him as much, i dont like being smacked around the whole game

That’s kinda always been true. Main tanks are a fairly easy role to play, with high impact and low levels of competition.

You only have to be better than the enemy main tank to climb, and you’ll very often not fight anyone who mains them.

Fairly easy role to play mechanicly maybe but you are in charge of pretty much the entire push wrong route, wrong engage and you basicly lost the teamfight for your team. Maintank isn’t about mechanics its about gamesense and have a feeling on what ults they may or may not have and utilize your kit accordingly.

I actually think winston for example is one of the hardest heroes to play proper (especially in this meta).

That’s true, and I suppose that comes down to total time playing multiplayer games more so than anything else.

If you’re new to these sorts of things it can be tough, but if you’re someone with hundreds or thousands of hours playing fpses they’re pretty straightforward. Game sense can be hard to intensively learn, but it’s not a particularly rare skill or a particularly challenging one to utilise.
