will they disappear once ow2 arrives? or can one still open them in ow2?
Last I heard, the contents of all your unopened lootboxes will be dumped into your account one way or another. Here’s a blue post on the topic:

Reddit AMA answered this already. When 10/4 happens all unopened loot boxes will automatically be opened and the contents given out. Your credits will carry over but no word yet on what they are good for.
button, opening them all would solve this for years.

Zilch….you’ll be able to get low quality cosmetics with them and like nothing else….like the stuff no one ever uses……anything that has any level of desirability (quality) will be locked behind a paywall of some kind (whether it be direct purchase or tied to premium passes)
I mean yes I assume that the high quality stuff will no longer be buyable with credits but presumably something will be and we have no word on what that something is or whether it is just old OW1 content.
