There are some games that are just purely unwinnable. Not due to matchmaking, but because of player stupidity. I just had a comp game with not one, not two, but three one trick players. I had a Winston one trick, a Genji one trick, and an echo one trick. Obviously the enemy team comes out on ball and we just get completely steam rolled. The ball did not die once the entire game. I swapped brig after the first fight, but it didn’t matter.
Ball ended the game 33 and 0. I ended up having more damage then my both my dps just fighting on point. My Genji went 4 and 13. My echo went 10 and 12, and my Winston went 12 and 10. There’s literally nothing I can do in this scenario.
We literally had a fight where we killed everyone with a meter left to cap and ball was the only one left alive. He single handedly just rolled around point and nobody can kill him.
They system still rewards not switching so I don’t think it will ever stop. It’s kinda crazy that swapping gives you less rank than just sticking with one character the whole match. Been like this since ow 1
You don’t get to dictate what other people are playing. If they’re doing well on their win percentage, but you lose most of your games, the common denominator is YOU
What would you think if some random like me coming here and tell you please stay out of comp if you dont have a 5 stacks to practice? After all that s what the game is meant to be played.
As a solo ranked tank player, the opponent will always be a multiplayer ranked player. Ranked multiplayer will always be geared towards your choice of counter heroes. Especially if you don’t have Zen at home and the enemy is on the opposite side, you will never be able to take advantage of the tank position.
If there was a completely solo competitive mode, this situation would be improved a lot.
Don’t get too invested in wins and losses and KDR. None of that matters here. Focus on your own gameplay. Some teams will be terrible. Some will click.
If you want better results, I’d advise queuing with a 5 stack. You’ll never get this type of consistency in solo queue.
Niche OTPs have about the same winrate as others in the right tier. But the game is a bit different from my experience. Stomping when the enemy team either doesn’t know how to counter them or has an OTP that is hardcountered by our OTP. Gettin’ stomped when the enemy team either knows how to counter them or has an OTP hardcounter our OTP. There are few games inbetween. It feels like a casino indeed lmao
When an OTP plays really well against hardcounters, then it means he is a smurf.
This isn’t always true. Especially for older accounts. I’m not a smurf but if I create a brand new account I’ll automatically get placed a lot higher than my max rank on the account I’ve been using since the game launched.
My main account stays hardstuck between high silver and low plat. But a new account will place me in low masters every time.
I can work with ball one tricks due to understanding how to play with him, my issue is getting DPS players off roling on support as Illari and not switching up their pick at all when it is clear that she isn’t the pick here.
i mean i get where the OP is coming from but @ the same time, some of us have lives and can’t spend all day every day learning every hero. This is also not the kind of game to dedicate one’s life to…sorry not sorry.
OTP’s are one of the many reaspns comp is so terrible, they’re just selfish players. They wanna play their hero and thats it, happy to make the game harder for everyone else.
Im all for having a main hero but when you start to get 0 value you should be swapping. Its these people that cause loses.
It should reslly be a reportable offence under Gameplay Sabotage- Blocking Team Progress
