If there was only mechanical skill

I’m talking about characters that rely on raw player skill, no auto aim for both heals and damage, no AoE that only hits your enemies-only using pure manual aim and moxy in the most chaotic situations to get a result… which characters would be left in the roster?

None. Absolutely none of them.

Assuming that a single ‘easy’ or ‘no-skill’ trick would eliminate a hero entirely, none would remain off the top of my head.

So lets define what is considered auto aim first, with a few hero examples

Fairly certain that’s referring to things that hit or lock onto targets without aiming directly at them, e.g. Mercy’s beams, Moira’s beam, Hack.

Anyway, Tracer and Widowmaker both pretty well fit the description of relying on mechanics for everything, but maybe they wouldn’t count on a technicality (AOE abilities that could theoretically kill via stupidity of opponents instead of aim).

Recall for Tracer. Press a button and it’s done. No mechanical skill required.

Of course, I’m being extremely petty about this but rules be rules.

I think Tracer is the closest to it, even her ult has narrow AoE that can hurt her as well as the enemy if not used correctly

No wonder she was the benchmark for character development

Well the “rules” stated damage and healing, but… yeah, Recall heals if timed appropriately, so fair enough.

Uhh… you’re not gonna kill anyone with grappling hook. Most of Widow’s value comes from her weapon and her ult. Arguably more from her weapon. Venom Mine is whatever… might as well not even exist. Considering Widowmaker’s weapon requires a ton of mechanical skill and that’s where most of her value is, she is one of the heroes that most accurately fits the description.

But it also goes through the entire map, when attacking it can turn the tides simply by existing
