Why shouldn’t Mercy pocket anyone else other than tanks
Cause Mercy isn’t a good at supporting tanks?
Sometimes they do, but they dont do the same level of burst damage some dps do, for example, following a ball around would be rather dangerous and deadly for a mercy
damage boosting a rein is a good idea in some situations but he also takes way more damage so its better to heal him,
Unless youre going for a nanoblade theres a reason most anas first reaction is to look for the tanks to nano, rather than the dps, since they can do more with it most often un-choreographed
Because tanks doesn’t do that much dmg than dps heroes does?
Ehere did you even hear that statement that tanks are better and carry lol.
A lot of people on the forums have the assumption that Tanks can carry because they define META and make Damage heroes obsolete because Tanks can deal more damage than them.
That’s just from what I’ve seen, though.
If someone’s is playing bad on your team, if it’s a DPS or a support, they’re not gonna be as much of a liability as a bad tank.
But at the same time, good plays on tanks can be way more impactful than many support or dps plays.
I say this as a tank main.
Mercy’s toolkit is based on using GA to stay alive using multiple allies and boost the damage.
If you GA in the frontline with tanks, you are in the middle of the bullet rain.
Also boosting tanks damage is nowhere near as effective as boosting a DPS damage in the exact moment.
The point of Mercy is to top off people, switch targets and boost damage while staying alive.
Huh? tanks are carry?? Ermm ok…
Me genji blading at the four squishies
I personaly when pick mercy just try to fly around healing who i can. Sometimes shoot stuff but avoid pocketing anyone, cant get to that mind set of pocket mercy so… my reasoning pocketing is weird and hard to do…
yes…
damage boosting a max charged zarya is the tank i usually try and boost as mercy or maybe a nano’d rein
Because even though tanks have the most carry potential, it doesn’t mean they can 2v6. Letting the rest of your team die is a surefire way to lose. If the choice is between resurrecting a tank or a dps, you almost always will get more value from choosing the tank.
From experience it feels better to support tanks regardless of the support you play. They have so many perks going for them that I feel they are more powerful over the course of the game.
Higher health pools meaning more ult charge, more time to dmg bst.
Easier dmg output.
Stronger ultimates if enabled to get them faster (aka more time alive and attacking or being boosted).
Tanks alive hogging space = everyone benefits.
Treating tanks as the higher priority targets between 2 people is often the better result.
Oh, they try at lower ranks, trust me on that.
Mercy has the ability to give out heals to anyone is a short amount of time because of her high mobility. If you spend all your time focusing on one hero you’re wasting her potential.
Because at the end of the day its still a numbers game, Ape that work together strong together.
Also if you’re pocketing a hit scan with blue beam ur gonna get a heck of a lot of ult charge.
I’ve always thought that too. I’ve gotten some flack occasionally for not pocketing people who demanded it - but if I’m pocketing you, the other support has to handle the rest of the team solo.
I mean it can work, but the person I’m pocketing needs to be out performing everyone else by a lot to justify my ignoring the rest of the team
