Why don’t you just replace it with an ability that can prevent death instead of undoing it?

According to a lot of people its the reason why half the supports never see any use or viability.
Its a problem in every state (probably not the MAIN problem, but A problem.
What if:
Resurrect removed the respawn timer for the “resurrected” player and they got a 25% speed boost for 10 secs or so to get back from spawn faster.
I personally don’t have issues with it but maybe ^ that would be easier to swallow for some people… It’d still basically be resurrect, just not “instantly back”
Sounds like a pretty boring ability to be honest. Mercy should get a replacement for res that still feels good to use and has playmaking potential.
It fully preventing death would be ridiculous tho… Imagine someone ults and they’re immortal during it, gege.
Props to the Mercy for pro-active thinking and the awareness to protect the player.
Still better than “Oh you are dead lol my bad, I just press button now and undo that”.
Also it wouldn’t be something as broken as invulnerability. A good idea is a protection status for a couple of seconds that revives the player if they happen to die.
How about these:

Restore resurrect to the ult, but you can store it up to 3 stacks and have no delay.

Add new e skill, ‘healing 30HP+removing debuff of mercy and one Ally in near’.
It’s not a problem people just complain.
It clearly is a problem since a full rework and repeated nerfbats still haven’t fixed Mercys super high pickrate.

I wouldn’t say it’s the whole problem but it is a factor.
Mercy being the only viable and consistently reliable healer effect her pickrates. Moiras unneeded bug fix, zens and bridges pathetic healing and lucius tiny aoe leave mercy on top. Theres a reason support mains complain they have little impact. I’d rather not make it worse by losing the only consistent healer in the game right now I like being healed.
Dota 2 has a hero that has an ability called ‘Shallow Grave’
When it’s cast on an ally they cannot die for 2-5 seconds and will remain at ‘1hp.’
To be used in Overwatch obviously heroes with this buff can be healed but they cannot drop below 1hp.

Sounds good. It would also synergise with a beserker hero if one got added to the game.
The lower the hp of the beserker the more damage they do.
Would combo well with Pharah Ult and Reaper.
Mercy has been nothing but a controversy ever since people saw how useful and impactful she is and can be. All the other healers are literally a downgrade because of her infinite healing and the res cooldown.
In a game like this, infinite healing and Resurrection will always take priority over anything else. Her design is flawed for a game like this. She is and will be the best healer unless you completely rework this character like Symmetra and change all aspects, or just break her down completely and make her useless.
Divine intervention:
Buffs ally with divine intervention for 2 seconds, removing negative status effects, if allys health drops to 0, they are healed for 200hp.
15 second cool down
People just want to scapegoat “Res” as a reason to nerf Mercy.
The devs already said she’s fine. Jeff already said they’re NOT removing the ability. They’re probably either going to rework her again or somehow revert her. Otherwise Mercy is fine.
