Should they be suspended from playing ranked for the rest of the season?
I’m not trying to be a jerk, but when I regularly lose games because I have 30% win rate players on my team who have dropped 700 rating in 1 week, it’s extremely hard to win.
And this isn’t even a rare occurrence, it’s almost more often than not that when I encounter a Genji/Mei player that they’re already throwing before the match has even begun.

I climbed 1800ish SR in like 2 seasons. I had losing streaks up to 500 SR during the climb. Climbing isn’t smooth.
It’s only your problem that you constantly lose, don’t make that our problem.

This account was 1300 rating when I started. I hit Master’s this season. But nice try.
I dropped 500 in one horrible 24 hour period a while back, stuff happens. Just put your head down and keep pushing forward, all you can do bud. Let me leave you with this:

What do you mean? Like you were encountering smurfs and throwers?
Also, matchmaking is confusing enough as is, and while I have been consistently Platinum/Diamond since season 3, I’ve heard accounts of people being like 3300 on one account, and 2100 on another. How does that make sense?
Either people are intentionally ruining their own SR or this system is doing a consistently poor job.
Were you playing characters who are considered troll picks, and who you literally have 0-30% win rates with?
Don’t worry about what I was playing or what anyone else is playing. Worry about your own game play and stop trying to find a scapegoat for every loss. Losses happen. Serenity-courage-wisdom.

Maybe they had a bad week. I have never thrown a game. But 3 times i have lost over 500 in a week. I wouldn’t want to be kicked while down…

you can disconnect and lose 50 sr
That would be like adding fuel to fire. It could end very badly.

Pff i lost 500 sr one time ranked down from high plat to high gold , they shouldn’t be suspended for that…

I went 500 sr up and the lose them back to 50% winrate in no time.

No it’s true …. i had someone in my group 2 or 3 days ago who droped from mid dia into low gold … if the system worked this huge drops should not happen.
I had been trying hard this season and I have lost 300sr so far. I always hover around mid to high gold, but I went on a really bad streak and have stopped playing comp entirely since then. I wouldn’t want to be suspended on top of it and feel even worse.
I will say this: the comp system is crap. But that’s my opinion.
I lost ~300 sr from my placement matches because almost every game was with leavers, throwers or just dead weight. The placement matches are bull**** anyway.

No. I mean, I’ve seen a bunch of Genji players at my plat rank who were once diamond +
I assume these are players who didn’t adapt to the meta up at their rank and now they are being pushed down. I think they are being punished enough for not adapting tbh.

But to be fair …. should someone who playes Genji/Tracer on masters level derank because his hero is not meta anymore? That would mean that rank is determined by your main hero, not your skill.
Yeah they should total derank. I agree, to be a “master” means you have to “master the game” this means you have to adapt to changes. The players who adapted of Tracer/Genji and picked up Hanzo are probably still holding firm in their ranks. These are players that are just “skilled” at the game not just one hero. And that’s a good thing.
Me personally, I play ALL the tanks, so that no matter what meta shift occurs, I will always have an important role to play. And I have a lot of fun maining tanks. But I’m having even more fun right now because Reinhardt and Zarya are back. I prefer these two tanks above dive ones.
